It appears that we will be running Full-size, Compact, Hobo, and a heat of Old Iron.
Payouts are only guaranteed for first place. The rest will depend on entry money for each class and maybe sponsors. The fairboard has given me the payouts as following:
80's- $1000 Compact- $1000 Hobo- $500 Old Iron- $500 **again...these are guaranteed 1st place payouts only**
Sounds like there will also be a lawnmower derby and I think the winner walks away with $600 (but don't quote me on that one)
I'm sure we can be talked into a Powder Puff heat, and depending on the demand, I'd like to see a Hobo heat. Perhaps there will be some leftover cars from Lawrence and maybe a few fresh ones from the local Overbrook boys and girls. We will just have to see.
Rules will be the JackWagon Promotion rules and they are posted on the Douglas County Fair thread as well as the Douglas County Fair website. If you would like a copy emailed or mailed to you, contact me.

Totally should have a powder puff! There was like 9 cars last year! We put on a good show too, plus we pulled over $600 from the crowd last year...I think that says a lot about what the crowd thinks of the powder puff....

Totally agree Rae. Worst case, we have to go the same route. You can pretty much count on having Powder Puff there.

The Old Iron heat will be hard cars, but it WILL NOT be full-blown outlaw. I can see a few kickers in the front and rear being allowed as well as some extra repair plates. I will just add a few "extra allowances" for the old cars onto the rules at some point. -Jay

Are you guys going to have a lawnmower derby this year? It would be a great time to have one.

Will the mowers be allowed to be shaft driven or just pully or both?

Here's the scoop folks. I want to line a few things out for the Old Iron class.
I DO NOT want full-on outlaw cars. Here is what I want. The cars need to be to the rules, but will be allowed plates on the frames and two "kickers" in the front and two in the back. That's four total and two have to be in front of the driver and two in the back. The kickers can be no larger than 3".
I realize this is not exactly clear, but I don't feel like I can be too clear. The cars that show up will dictate my clarity. If it's dangerously over-built, I can't and won't let it run! -Jay

Are you going to have mad dog or best dressed money for the hobo class?

I don't believe so, but there is always a chance we could get some sponsor money, but I can't promise anything....sorry. -Jay
