Sept.18,2010 shrine derby not Allen co.fair Derby. Nor the same officials. This is a front wheel drive derby and a combine derby feature pay is 750.00$ first place 350$ second place and 175$ for third. any ?'s or comments contact me Donny VanLeeuwen (620) 433-2844 or Tim Fritch (620) 431-1052
it will be at the speedway in humboldt ks. same place as the fair derby but this has nothing to do with the fair derby this is sponsored by the mirza shrine out of chanute ks. this will be a unique event with front wheel drive only and the pay is good to. i will posting the rules soon. we kinda figured that these front wheel drive cars are everywhere and this should be a pretty fair event where anybody can do this seeing how full size are getting so exspensive. we are going to try it and see how it goes so we can keep having events like this. call us if you have any ?'s. we already have one person that gave away some front wheel cars to let people run and then return them when they are done for the wheight back. I thought thas was pretty cool, i wish wecould find more scrap yards willing to do that.

Upon passing inspection the vehicle will be placed and secured in a heat lane in the pit area. NO work will take place on the vehicle after being placed in a heat lane. If violation of this rule occurs, the vehicle will be disqualified from competition. Additional inspections concerting all rules and regulations may be performed prior to each heat. Any violations found during preheat inspections will result in disqualification. If a car does not meet the conditions of rules, it will not be allowed in the derby competition. The overall safety will be determined by officials at time of inspection. If a vehicle does not pass inspection, you may do the required work on the grounds, so that it will meet the required regulations, AS LONG AS, work is completed by final inspection time AND work area is CLEANED UP! The work area WILL BE inspected and MUST be CLEAN before a car will be allowed to enter a heat lane. If there are more than 22 cars then we will divide the cars into two heats. The same driver may enter more than one heat, but must have a different car for each heat. Drivers are required to attend the DRIVERS meeting at 6:30 prior to the race. No complaints after the drivers meeting. All concerns must be brought up DURING the drivers meeting. All drivers will be held responsible for the actions of their pit crew. (A pit crew can get a car and driver disqualified.) NO pit crew member allowed on the track at ANY time during the competition. Upon completion of heat the driver will be allowed to exit his/her car and hook the tow rope to be removed from arena. Heat Rules: No hitting the driver’s door. All drivers must complete an aggressive hit on alternation competitors with 60 seconds. No sandbagging or team driving. Any car that has more than two fires in the engine compartment during a heat or feature will be disqualified for the rest of the derby. If for the good of competition, the judges see fit to alter the program, they are free to do so at their discretion. Drivers must obey flag signals. If judge gives a driver a red flag then the stick must be broken by judge or driver. Decisions of the judges will be final. Immediately following the derby, all cars and parts must be removed from arena/speedway/pit areas.
Compact Cars (1 Heat Only) 1st Place: $750.00 2nd Place: $350.00 3rd Place: $175.00 If more than 22 cars there will be 2 heats. Heat winner (If 2 heats) $50.00
Pretty Car Class (Grandstand decision) Winner $50.00
The number of vehicles per heat and the number of heats will be determined by the number of entries. The number of consolation heats will be determined by the number of entries. The last 2 active cars in each heat will advance to the feature. If a driver has two “Heat winner” cars for the feature, he may designate one of his pit members (with all forms completed) to drive one of his cars in the feature. If a heat winner is unable to drive in the feature, he may designate one of his pit members (with all forms/waivers completed) to drive his car in the feature. If a “heat winner” vehicle is unable to make the feature, then the vehicle that was the 3rd remaining vehicle from that heat may advance to the feature as an alternate. NOTE: Each heat will begin immediately after clearing the arena from the previous heat. There will be 20 minutes between the last heat and the consolation heats. All drivers and pit members must attend pit meeting prior to derby at 6:30 pm.

Thank you everybody that participated this was a great show and all the drivers were very coopertive and understanding of the rules that is how it should be absolutely no problems you guys put on a hell of a show. The track announced the fan count and i believe that they said there was 4100 adult tickets sold not counting how many snuck in the back and pit people. some shriners got thier heads shaved because there was more than 4000 people. That was cool. congrats to the winners. this was his first win in a derby.
