What was the final car count? And does anyone have videos and the where everyone placed. I know Lee Day won and Jon got second.

I don't know how it looked from the stands but that was a hard hitting show with some very good cars and drivers! Congrats Jon. You drive you butt off! Brandon and Tony once again put on an amazing show! I can tell ya what it looked like from the stands: the best Winfield demo I've ever seen. Fast, hard hitting, and people there to make junk (instead of to win and save their car for next yr.). Awsome job to all involved!

I am curious; does anyone know how Shane is? He sure rolled out of his car fast and shiny... looked like was hot.

I talked to him a little this morning... I think his leg was burnt pretty bad along with arm, chest, and neck, but you know that won't slow him down. He was already trying to figure out where else he wanted to run the next few weeks...

To EVERYONE involved last night, I just want to say thanks for helping refresh my faith in demolition derby and my love for the sport... IMO, it was on a rapidly decreasing spiral these last few years I've sat out.. Watching this derby last year and participating last night was like going back in time to "the good old days." I can't stress enough how impressed I am with the way Brandon and his crew have turned things around for the better in such short time..

Once again it was a great show with a lot of great drivers and well built cars. It's was for sure full of hard hits. I had a blast. But it sure was not a good show for a GM metric. Lol Attachments:

I think I had too hard of a bumper on mine and it thrashed my rails right at the firewall....of course...driving into the arena wall didn't help much. Lol
I was actually impressed with the metric against the old iron. They just take a little bit of a different driving style.
When I talked with the third place car he said it was a 77 Pontiac. That threw me because I thought it was a 78 and newer.
All in all I thought it was a good derby this year and I had a blast.

I just looked it up...I was off a year; 77 was the first year of the metrics.

I was skeptical of the metrics until I ran one and it was fun (still prefer older iron but I'm not picky either). I learned some stuff about them and they can be made to do what you want.
As far as being reminded of "the good ol' days"... I remember the good old days and wanted them back for yrs, but I tell you what Winfield is right now is BETTER than the good old days! People anywhere in Kansas are going to be hard pressed to find a demo better to drive in or watch than Winfield is right now.
Fig 8's were great to watch last night. Lot's of action and excitement. Jon, congrats on the second 2nd of the weeekend and that rollover without stopping was a crowd pleaser for sure! Another good job to all involved.
