We will be doing the Power Wheel, Bolt/Chain and Welded class. Both car classes will have the same payouts which is listed above and will be a $5000.00 purse for each class. All rules are listed below. Tickets for raffle car available day of derby.

The bolt & chain class is open to all men and women 16 and over. Driver must have a driver’s license or proof of age. In fairness to all, the following rules and regulations shall prevail. If under 18 you must have a Parents Signature.
Do not do any more than what is stated in these rules. These rules state what you may do if not in here you can’t do it. Do not do anything to make your car illegal after inspection. If this happens you will be disqualified and there will be no return of entry fee. Officials have the right to re-inspect your cars at any time.
PARTICIPANT REGULATIONS
Drivers may move forward or backward. They must make contact every 60 seconds or be disqualified. There will be no sandbagging or team driving. If you sandbag/team driving, the race will be stopped and a sandbagger/team driving flag will be put on top of your car and whoever takes him/her out will get $50. No team driving allowed, not even on a sandbagger. If an official sees you have the ability to make a clean hit and you lock your brakes up to slide into them, you will be issued a sandbagging flag. Official's decision is final. The 2nd time this happens your flag will be broken. Cars must move when hit or show visible damage. No driver’s door hits will be allowed. No using the driver’s door for a shield will be allowed.
SAFETY RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Cars must have at least 2 bars attached from the roof down to the dash area to prevent the hood from coming in. You may use chain or 2 in. by 3/16 steel bars welded no more than 4 inches on roof or firewall area.
2. Radiator over flow hoses must be pointed at the ground and fastened so they cannot shoot water towards officials or other drivers.
3. Header pipes must be pointing straight up. They cannot be aimed towards front or side of cars.
4. Note: If you have a hole in the fire wall, it must be covered.
5. Safety belts are required. Must be worn at all times when in arena.
6. D.O.T. approved helmets are mandatory. Any driver using an open faced helmet will be required to wear safety goggles or shield.
7. Helmets must be worn at all times when in the arena.
8. Mandatory: You must wear long pants and a shirt. (fire suit recommended)
9. 1st fire is a warning and the 2nd fire in the same heat you are out. Then you must show official when re-entering arena it was fixed.
10. No alcoholic beverages or drugs are allowed in pit area or on the track.
11. NO PIT PERSONS ALLOWED ON THE TRACK. No drivers or fans in contact with judges if you or pit persons or fans of yours are in contact with judges you will be disqualified. If driver crawls out of car during a stop in action then you must exit arena area.
12. Note: Management does have the right to disqualify a car/driver at any time. Any person on the track or in the pit, causing trouble and not complying with the rules, will be asked to leave. (We can have you escorted off or have you arrested and banned from running future derbies.)
13. Protests must be made no later than 5 minutes after the heat or consolation in question. No protests will be taken after feature event. Only Drivers in this class are allowed to protest a car. $50 protest fee you get it back if you are right if not the driver you protested gets the protest money.
PREPARATION OF CARS
No screws are allowed on outside of car. PLASTIC GAS TANKS are allowed as long as they are in a metal box.. (Heavy duty plastic racing fuel cells are allowed.) No wedging, no sedagons, no jeeps, no trucks (ranchero and El Caminos are considered trucks), no carryalls, no hearse, no limos, no convertibles, no imperials 73 and older or imperial subs. No sub changes. All glass, chrome, pot metal, lights, carpet, headliner, back seats, fiber glass and anything else that is flammable must be removed before reaching the exhibit area. (Do not break glass down in the doors.) Trunks must be empty of all debris, spare tire rims, parts, etc. Wagons must have spare tire flap removed or hole cut in it for inspectors to see.
ABSOLUTELY NO welding besides what is stated in these rules. All 9 wire must be tied to the car so not to fall off in the arena. UNLIMITED 9-WIRE. This does not apply where rules specify how much wire you can use, i.e. doors and bumpers or where used for reinforcement.
MANDATORY
Car must have number on the roof with name on roof above front doors. Use your choice of number. You must have a roof sign with minimum of 12 inch numbers on both sides of sign. No profanity allowed on cars.
ENGINE
Engine swaps are allowed. The lower engine mount may be welded or bolted with three 3/8" bolts to the frames cross-member. You can make modifications when mounting examples GM to Mopar or GM to Ford but it HAS to be mounted similar to how the original motor was mounted from the factory. Which means it can only be bolted to the car frame and has to have rubber mounts between the car frame and engine mount. Absolutely no metal to metal contact between the car and engine mount . No pulley protectors or anything the inspectors see as a pulley protector.
You may use 2 chains to retain one on each side or use two straps, 2 in. by 3/16 thick to hold motor in. It can ONLY be welded to TOP of frame no more than 3 inch long weld. The strap cannot be farther forward than the stock mounted water pump. You may use header pipes. Must have stock motor mount bolted or welded to cross member, If stock mount not used it will be up to the inspection to ok best to use stock mount. If welded you may not add any material.
No pulley protectors, distributor protectors, Header protectors, NO CRADLES, metal fan shrouds, or carburetor protectors allowed.
RADIATORS
It must be an automotive radiator, remain stock, and in the stock location. No homemade radiators allowed.
TRANSMISSION
Transmission coolers are allowed. They must have double clamps on all rubber to steel lines. No transmission protectors allowed. Aftermarket steel bell housing is allowed but must be close to factory specs. Transmission may have chain to secure. Cross member must be bolted in. If you don’t have a cross member you must use a piece of 2x4x1/4 C- Chanel and it must be bolted in with a max 4- 3/8 bolts with 1 inch washers.
BATTERY
The battery must be in the front passenger side and be covered with something nonflammable like rubber tube, rubber floor mat, etc. Batteries must be secured so they don’t move. 2-12 volt batteries max.
SUSPENSION
Suspension must remain stock. No welding on the shocks, no trailer hitches, special lifts, blocks, air shackles, air shocks. Air lifts must be deflated. Screw in spring spacers ok. Shocks ok if after market. No homemade shocks.
REAR ENDS
Rear ends must be 5 lug. Rear end swaps allowed example- GM to Ford Must be a stock rear end, no Hybrid rear ends or axle protectors allowed. Locking of the rear ends permitted. Stock mounting for make, year and model of car required. No braces or axle protectors. You may use a 3/8 chain around frame and to axle 1 wrap only. You may 9 wire or chain lower coil spring to spring pocket. After market gears in rear end are allowed.
DRIVE SHAFTS
It must be OEM stock drive shaft other than modifications of yokes with rear end swaps.
TRAILING ARMS & A-ARMS
They must be factory with absolutely no reinforcing, shortening or lengthening. You may 9 wire A-arms or bolt down with 5/8 max bolt with 1 ½ od washers. Or you may use 1 3/8 chain 1 wrap around a-arm to frame per side.
STEERING COLUMN/BRAKES/SHIFTER
The steering column must be stock. You may put steering knuckle at rag joint. Brakes must work. You may use a bolt in pedal assembly in the driver’s floor board and must be bolted to sheet metal only. You may put shifter on the floor or attached to the tranny. A cable shifter is ok.
HOOD
Hood must remain in the factory position with no sliding forwards and folding down over the front.. 6 hood bolts allowed but only 2 may go through the frame outside of radiator support and cannot be directly in front or behind the radiator they must be bolted to the frame not welded in or you can weld your bolts to the core support with no more than 3" down from the top of the core support or fender ABOUSOULTY NO ADDED METAL WHEN WELDING JUST WELD THE BOLT lN. Judges decisions are final if the bolt is serving to hold the hood down versus reinforcement. This rule will be strictly in-forced. Bolts must not be any bigger than 1 inch with hood washers no bigger than 5 inches outside diameter. You must have 2 holes cut in the hood big enough for fire extinguisher. Not directly over carburetor. You may use 20 bolts around header holes no bigger than SAE 3/8 with washers no bigger than 1 inch.
TRUNK
You can use 4- 1 in. bolts in trunk and 2 may go through frame with washers no bigger than 5 inches outside diameter. Trunk lids must remain on factory hinges. Tucking or V’ing of trunk lid is allowed, but absolutely no wedging. You may chain or 9 wire or bolt with 3/8 bolts with 1 inch od washers up to 10 places total on deck lid, if bolting it can only go through drip edge. Wagon gates are considered same as deck lid. NO MORE THAN 50% OF TRUNK MAY BE TUCKED.
BODY
No seam welding and no patching is allowed. Pre-denting is okay. Body must be stock to frame.
FENDERS
Fenders may be trimmed and 10 bolts may be used per fender. Bolts are to be no bigger than 3/8 with washers no bigger than 1 inch outside diameter. You may have 2 wraps 4 strands of 9 wire from fender to fender in front of radiator not connected to bumper. This wire must be ran behind or in front of wire from core support or hood to bumper.
BODY MOUNT BOLTS
They must be factory. Bushings must be factory. If missing a body bolt, you may use factory size bolt for fix. If bushing is missing, you may wire mount with 9 wire. Do not remove rubber mount or you will 9 wire it or load it.
FRAME
Absolutely no welding is allowed on frame. No reinforcing of frame whatsoever. You can notch the frame. You may pre bend frame. You may not put fix-it patch on a fresh car. You may patch or fix the frame with a max of 6-6x4x1/4 plates per car. Three (3) patches are allowed per frame rail uni-body cars will be considered 1 frame rail per side. There must be visible damage to the frame, i.e. tear or bend. A patch may not be closer than 1 inch to another patch, which means 1 inch between welds on patch. If you have to patch after your heat and have 6 plates, one must be removed before one is added.
DOORS
Driver’s door may be welded solid with a strap no bigger than 3 inches, on the outside only. On the driver’s only, you may reinforce inside the car however you want as long as it does not attach to the frame and does not go past door seams of driver’s door more than 8 inches and is deemed safe by inspectors. You must have a safety bar welded or bolted. If bolted, must have 4 bolts through bar to body. Bar cannot go past door seam by more than 8 inches. All other doors may be chained up to 6 places per door or wired 6 places per door. On wagon’s tailgates, NO WELDING is allowed.
CAGE
You may have a cage with two side bars, one on the driver’s door and one on the passenger door; and two cross bars, one behind the seat and one at the dash. The cage cannot extend past the dash area in the front and must be no further back than 8 inches behind the front seat or behind the front doors, rear door seam, i.e. 2 door cars. This can be welded in. Absolutely no kickers are allowed. You may have 5 down bars. They cannot go to the frame. sheet metal only. You may have a halo bar it cannot be any farther back than the seat bar. None of the cage or halo can connect to the frame. A halo cannot connect to the windshield bars or the roof sign. You may have a gas tank protector connect to seat bar going around tank, it must not be closer than 4" from sheet metal.
FRONT BUMPERS: You can either BOLT or WELD--- YOU CAN'T DO BOTH--NO CUTTING THE FRAMES DOWN!
OPTION # 1: No welding on bumpers. They can be wired, chained from mount to mount. You may remove brackets but cannot add any, i.e. you can put bolts or chain anywhere between the mounts to the car, 6 bolts 1 inch max 24 inches long per piece may be used to bolt front and rear bumper on. No welding of shocks or brackets. If you have an aluminum bumper you may change it to a stock model bumper for that make. Bumper swaps are ok, MOPAR to GM ie. Brackets must be stock to the car you are running. No changing the mounting brackets for the make, model and year of car is allowed. Brackets must be in stock mounting position on frame. NO WELDING OF SKINS. Make sure the bumpers are well secured. We don’t want to pick them up all night. --DO NOT CUT ENDS OF FRAMES DOWN--
OPTION #2: Same as above with bumper swaps—GM to FORD, MOPAR to GM Bumper brackets must remain stock for the car. NO WELDING ON BUMPER SKIN. You can weld your factory bumper bracket to the frame to its stock location (do not alter or move the bracket forwards and backwards) and bumpers can be welded to the bracket----NO ADDED METAL THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED .. NO PLATING ON MOPAR Y FRAMES. You are allowed to collapse the factory bumper shock. . You can remove the bracket completely, or flush with frame and hard nose the bumper directly to the frame and weld it, however; you CAN NOT cut the end of the frame down (i.e. Crown Vics) or alter the core support location in any fashion. Core support bolts must remain to stock location. You are still allowed to 9 wire and chain bumper from mount to mount.
NO STUFFING OR LOADING OF BUMPERS. Must be stock.
BACK BUMPERS:
Must be in stock location and can be bolted on per Option #1. NO welding..
GAS TANKS
A maximum of 7 gallons of gas is allowed. Fuel cells/metal boat tanks must be placed in back seat area and properly secured. NO STOCK TANKS. Fuel cells must be secured so there is no movement. (Do not use bungee cords for this.) If tank is not secure you will not be running. Fuel cells must have secure caps and be leak proof. All fuel lines must have no leaks. Stock gas tanks must be removed or have holes in them and washed out. NO PLASTIC TANKS. (Heavy plastic racing fuel cells may be used.) Tanks must be covered with non-flammable material. Tank must be mounted in center or behind driver’s seat and can have a protector connected to cage for safety--4" from sheet metal.
TIRES/ Wheels
Any tire allowed up to 16 inch, Tire inside of tire is okay. No fluid allowed inside of tires. No valve stem protectors allowed. no wheel weights. Make sure you remove them even from your spares. Weld in centers are allowed maximum of 9 inch diameter and ¼ thick. Maximum of 16 inch wheels will be allowed.

2018 Welded Class
1.Any make of automobile, 1950 and up may be entered as long as the vehicle is not a pickup, truck, or jeep.
No four wheel drives, NO Chrysler Imperials or Desoto, NO ambulances or hearses will be allowed. No trucks, jeeps,
Convertibles, carryalls, and NO Imperial/Desoto sub frame cars. Suicide Lincolns will be allowed.
2.All glass, chrome, name plates, pot metal, plastic, small grill prices, and anything else that might break off or
fall off must be removed from car prior to entry on grounds. No wagon decking will be allowed.
3. Concrete, metal plate, wood, foam and pins in the frame and doors will NOT be allowed.
4. The stock gas tanks must be removed. A maximum 10 gallon gas tank must be located in the rear seat
compartment and fastened and covered securely.
5. Batteries must be moved to front seat compartment and fastened securely. Batteries and fuel cells must be
covered with metal or rubber mat. No more than two automotive or marine batteries allowed.
6. Radiators and fans may be removed but not relocated. You cannot use your heater core for a radiator
7. Transmission coolers may be placed inside the car. Electric fans or ice may be used.
8. Body mounts may be changed to 1 inch bolts or less. A 5” by 5” by ¼” plate may be used inside the car as a
washer on the top side of the body mounts. You can suck body to frame. Do not weld body to frame. You may
add 2 extra body mounts inside of car only. Rear humps forward. Not in truck area.
9. Car trunk lids may be folded inside the trunk compartment. You cannot weld lid inside of car.
10. Air conditioning condenser cores may be placed in front of the radiator. No other reinforcement such as expanded
metal may be used.
11. No tires larger than 16” allowed. A tire mounted inside of a tire is allowable.
12. WHEELS: No bead lock or screwed wheel. 16 inch wheel are allowed. ¾ ton rear ends and must be 6 lug only.
Only have 5 lug nuts total per wheel and no floater rear-ends allowed. No solid wheels are allowed.
13. Air cleaner must be left in place.
14. Firewalls must be covered with inter tube if there is a hole. Distributor protectors allowed, must be attached to
engine or transmission only, backside must be no wider than 12 inches. If you run a Distributor Protector do not
mount your dash bar closer than 6 inches from the back of the distributor protector or tranny protector. Distributor
protect can touch firewall. If you do not run a distributor protector, you may run a kicker from frame to dash bar but
can only go 6 inches in front of firewall. Kicker can only be no bigger than 1 inch and can only be welded on the top side
of frame. You may put a 1inch by 1 inch plate on the top of the frame so you can weld the kicker to. It cannot go down
the side of the frame. YOU CAN NOT HAVE BOTH (THE DISTRUTOR PROTECT OR THE KICKER. ONE OR THE OTHER). If your
engine mounts are broke, this means you can use a cradle but you will not be allowed to have kickers. No exceptions.
15. Modifications are allowed but the car must be running on gasoline.
16. Coil spring rear end cars can NOT be changed to a leaf spring rear end. No main leafs may be substituted for sub leafs.
All cars may have a total of 9 leafs and can only be 5/16 inches thick. You must also make sure you have a 2 inch
stagger. You may reinforce tie rods with a 3/8 by 8 inch rod, no modification of A arms, leaf springs and coil.
This means you can swap out A arm for A arm but you cannot reinforce A arm with added metal. A-arms can have
(two) 2 inch wide X 6 inch long and ¼ inch thick straps welded to frame per a-arm. If you choose not to straps the a-arms
down, you can weld the A-Arm down but only weld two 2 inch wide welds per A-arm. If you choose not to strap or
weld and want to bolt A-arms down, you must use( two) 3/8 bolts per A-arm. You can have factory twist in spacers in
front and rear coils springs. You can have 4 extra clamps per side on rear of leaf springs and they can only be no bigger
than 2inch wide by 4inch long by ¼ inch thick. You can have factory twist in spacers in front and rear coils spring.
17. You can stuff upper and lower control arms.
18. A fire extinguisher must be placed in car and securely mounted within easy access to the driver.
19. You may place slogans and/or advertising (no obscenities) anywhere on the car except on the front door.
You must put the car number in large print on the front doors with the driver’s name above the number.
You must put car number upright on the roof of the car.
20. All cars must have working brakes.
21. No paint or undercoating allowed on frames.
22. #9 wire is allowed. 1 spot per window and it can have 2 complete wraps and can go around frame
23. You can pre-fold body but you cannot weld, this means do not create your own seems and weld.
24. 80s and newer–you are allowed to tilt (You are allowed to cut the frame at the box, pull it down, and re-weld it.),
May tilt frames but you may only use 12 inches of weld per side. You may add factory gussets off a newer Vic and install on an older Vic.
No homemade gussets will be allowed.
25. Watts-Link Conversions – You may convert a Watts Link Ford to a Standard GM rear end in the following way: Use the
trailing arm brackets off an older Ford of the same size and thickness. No positioning of the brackets to strengthen
the front down leg of the rear hump. You may cut out the coil spring frame tray from an earlier Ford and weld it in the
newer Ford. When welding only one pass ¼”maximum no stronger than stock. No homemade bracket will be allowed
26. 2003 and Newer Fords, Do not change out the aluminum cross member it must remain stock. You can build your engine cradle to
go around existing cross member but you must leave a small hole so we can sheet the aluminum cradle the cradle can not
be more than 14” long and 3/4" thick. IF YOU DO THIS YOU ARE ONLY ALLOWED 6 PLATES INSTEAD OF 8. You can change steering
components but they must not weld to the frame. Bolted in with no modifications. You may remove the Aluminum cross member
and replace it with a metal cross member from another square or bubble Ford—EX.. No Desoto, Imperial cross members. NO ADDITIONAL METAL ALLOWED!
27. Rear-ends: You may brace the back housing and axle protectors are allowed. 14 bolt rear-ends allowed--rearends must be 5 lug!
28. May chain rear differential to the floor or humps. (3/8 chain max.) or 2 wraps of # 9 wire per side NO PINNING!
29. K-frames must leave one ear up. Y-frames you can close the gap with a 1/4 inch thick plate but must have
1/4 hole for scoping
30. No Frame Pinning and No Fame Lacing
31. All framed holes must be open, no welding shut or washers added!
32. May tie frame rails together at rear end with a chain or 2 raps of #9 wire( no further forward than hump
DERBY RULES
1.One driver door hit is a warning unless it is intentional. 2ND door hit and you are out.
2. If you are pushed into a driver door or are on the brakes and the door contact is a soft bump, you will be allowed to
continue.
3. Anytime 2 wheels or more of the car is outside of the boundary the car will have one minute to return. Four wheels out
and car is disqualified from heat.
4. Any car with gasoline spilling or leaking will be disqualified from heat.
5. Drivers must remain in their cars until the event director has declared the heat is over, except in the case of a fire.
6. When the calling goes out for each heat and final heat, driver is responsible for being on the track in 2 minutes or he will
be disqualified.
7. Helmets with face shields or helmets with goggles must be worn at all times. Seat belts and shoulder harness must be
worn at all times.
8. Any door that comes open will be disqualified.
9. Driver must make a hit within 1 minute unless car is stalled out and you will have 2 minutes
10. Car catches on fire two times in one heat will be disqualified from heat.
DERBY RULES**WELDING EXCEPTIONS
1. The only welding on the frame is from the transmission cross member forward and can only be ½ inch wide weld. Top
and bottom seams only. Do NOT weld anywhere else on the frame unless stated. Do not X frame. No welding
will be allowed inside of cars. If a car is brought in with welds, you must cut all the way through and no slobbers allowed.
2. The hood must be securely bolted with a maximum of eight all threads not to exceed one inch in diameter (must be able
to open). The only bolts or all thread allowed to go through the frame are the two located at the radiator core support.
All other bolts or all thread must be sheet metal to sheet metal only. Hood washers may not exceed 3/8 inch thick by 5
inch square. Two bolts or all thread (not to exceed 1 inch in diameter) are allowed in the trunk and can go thru frame.
Trunk may be chained around rear bumper but must not go around the frame or rear axle. Trunk and doors may be
securely welded on the outside only. You can fold top of doors down and weld together. No added material used. You
cannot weld on hoods; You can use 25 bolts which can be ¼ inch thick to reattach braces to hood.
3. Holes must be cut in hood, (a min. of (2) 6”by 6” each) A 12” hole must be cut in trunk. Trimming the body for tire
clearance allowed (a maximum of eight 3/8 inch bolts per wheel well with a maximum on inch O.D. washer will be
allowed. You may cut and weld rear fender wells also.
4. A safety bar may be welded or bolted behind driver’s seat not to exceed 4 inch in diameter. Bar may extend from door
post to door post, but preferred to run diagonally from driver’s door to hump in floor board. A four point internal side
cage (includes dash bar, side bars, and bar behind seat) will be allowed. Side bars must not extend further than 18 inches
behind rear edge of front door. Side bar cannot be bigger than 4 inch. You may also run a kicker from the door bar down
to the floor or frame, do not extend any further forward than the front door seam, between the dash bar and seat bar, on
both sides. You may connect the rear halo to the frame but cannot go further back than 18 inches from the front door
seam. Gas tank protectors can be used but can only be only 24 inch long. It can be 3 inch or less in diameter and must be
1 inch away from untouched sheet metal behind gas tank. You can either go forward or angle and tie back into seat bar.
You may weld ONE bar no bigger than 2” from the roof straight down to floor pan under speaker deck, you may put a 5”X5” plate on each side of bar to secure due to thin metal, DO NOT ANGLE THE BAR !! DO NOT CONNECT TO HALO BAR!!
5. Driver’s door must have reinforcement brace on inside or outside of door. Driver’s door bar on the outside can cover
driver’s side door and passenger side door but not to exceed past passenger side door. Foam may be place in drivers
door area to protect driver. You may also stick 4x4 wooden post in the driver side door only. One 4 stran wrap of 9 nine per window opening allowed..
6. DO NOT install special bumpers, extra weights, trailer hitches, special lift kits, or any reinforcement except as set out in
rules. No modifications of suspension allowed. Shocks may not be altered but you can have the coil over shocks. No coil
over shocks allowed on front end.
7. A bar or chain must be welded in where windshield would be. The windshield protector will not be used for reinforcement.
8. Door seams, trunk lid seams, and wagon gate seams may be welded with 3” by 1/4 “strap or with ½” rebar (in line with
the seam). You cannot over lay material anywhere on the car. This means do not weld a 2 inch followed by a 1 or even 2
inch. Smaller material may be used. You can also weld the inner door seams with a 3” strap. This is the only thing you
can weld inside of the car.
9. A maximum of (2) straps 2” by ¼” can be welded from front bumper to core support. A maximum of (2) straps 2” by ¼
can be welded from rear bumper to trunk lid. All straps on the front and back must be placed vertically.
10. Factory bumper mounts may be welded to the frame without using filler material.
11. Shock bumper mounts may be welded without using filler material and cannot be more than 18 inches long. If you
choose to use the Pontiac bumper brackets on the front bumper, they cannot be no longer than 18 inches. If you
choose to not have bumper brackets/shocks, I will only be allowing a 10 inch long by 6 inch wide by 3/8 inch thick
plate to replace bumper bracket/shock. No homemade Pontiac bumper brackets will be allowed.
12. Bumper swaps are allowed. Chevy to Ford, Chrysler to Chevy. Loaded or homemade bumpers are allowed.
No concrete or wood. (2) 3X3 square tubing is allowed for homemade bumpers. This means the bumper may be 6 inch
Tall by 3 inch wide. You may also add a point to the front of the bumper. The point can only go out 11 inches from the
Back of the bumper or 8 inches from the front of the bumper. The point is only allowed to be 24 inches wide which
mean go out 12 Inches from the middle to each side. You may use the same width on the point which is 6 inches tall.
You may also fill in the gap of the point with 3/8 plate and no bigger. Must have a small hole to scope. Stock bumpers
that you want to stuff, you can only use the same size or smaller material. You may also build a pointy bumper out of
the stock bumper but must use same dimension as homemade bumpers. The length of the bumper cannot go past the
outside of the front tires. You may cover with existing chrome bumper.
13. Bumper skin may be cut and folded down and welded. You may relocate rear bumper and lay in truck. You
are not allowed to load rear bumper if you install in trunk. You are only allowed to cut holes in bumper and put the all
tread that is running through your trunk from frame or trunk pan through the bumper and put
plate on top of bumper with nut and then your all-treads run up through trunk lid. You are not able to weld or
re-position bumper any other way. If so, you will be asked to remove bumper. If bumper is put in truck, you must put
the 2’ inch strap from bumper bracket to body and weld. We do not want the bumper brackets to be sticking out and
puncture the side of another car.
14. Motor mounts may be welded as long as it does not reinforce frame. You can only go straight down and do not extend
out.
15. Pre-run cars may patch a hole in the body of the car, but not replace the whole side of the car. If you patch a hole you
must use sheet metal no greater than the sheet metal that makes up the original car body. This patch may overlap the
outside of the hole 2”X 4” don’t push your luck
16. No welding of the suspension. You can weld main leaf mounting brackets to prevent them from coming unbolted.
Rear-end control arm may be shortened or lengthened but must be rewelded. You can weld coil springs at the base.
(So they don’t fly out)
17. The steering column from steering wheel to gearbox may be altered.
18. Welding machines can be allowed in pit area.
19. All cars may have plates welded to the frame and you may have 8 total plates (4X6) and can be ¼ inch thick. Maximum
8 plates per car fresh or used. YOU ARE ONLY ALLOWED 6 PLATES IF YOU BUILT YOUR OWN CROSS MEMBER ON 03' AND NEWER .. You must leave an inch between welds on plates. This means you cannot butt plates
together. If you have a preran car and you already have 8 plates and you have to add another plate,
you must completely cut one plate off to add another plate. The plates can only be welded on the
side of the frames. No welding the plates on the top and bottom of the frame. ONLY 8 plates total and I am not going
off square inches.
21. You may weld the core support and inner fenders to outer fenders. DO NOT USE ADDED FILLER. WELD ONLY.
22. Sedagons are allowed but you are not allowed to weld the top post to the bottom post. You can only tuck roof inside of
car and use the 2 all threads or # 9 wire where ALLOWED one 4 strans wrap per window opening..
Power Wheels Rules
1. Power Wheels Heat is for kids 7 and under and 8-12 years of age. Depending on the number of entries, they may all run one heat using a regular sized electric Power Wheel.
2. You can replace the factory battery with either a 12 volt lawn mower battery or car battery (battery cannot be mounted in the passenger seat). The replaced battery must be secured and sealed away from child (Suggestion: Roto Zip out a space where previous battery was, cover battery with an inner tube, strap in or use spray foam to secure and stabilize the battery from moving around).
3. Helmets must be worn.
4. All doors, hoods, and tailgates must be strapped shut. No Sharp edges. Use zip ties, duct tape, or other flexible product like liquid nails to hold the doors shut.
5. Kids are encouraged to paint and give their Power Wheel character.
6. Tires may be covered in duct tape to prevent them from breaking up or wrap with lawn mower tread for better traction.
7. Factory plastic bumpers must remain in place. No reinforcing the body
8. Motor must remain factory with no modifications besides the battery replacement.
9. Decorative changes can be made to Power Wheels to make it look like a derby car but it cannot reinforce the power wheel, only add decoration.
10. Remember this is for little kids and for fun. If you have made modifications, your child will not be able to participate and will be so disappointed.

The bolt & chain class is open to all men and women 16 and over. Driver must have a driver’s license or proof of age. In fairness to all, the following rules and regulations shall prevail. If under 18 you must have a Parents Signature.
Do not do any more than what is stated in these rules. These rules state what you may do if not in here you can’t do it. Do not do anything to make your car illegal after inspection. If this happens you will be disqualified and there will be no return of entry fee. Officials have the right to re-inspect your cars at any time.
PARTICIPANT REGULATIONS
Drivers may move forward or backward. They must make contact every 60 seconds or be disqualified. There will be no sandbagging or team driving. If you sandbag/team driving, the race will be stopped and a sandbagger/team driving flag will be put on top of your car and whoever takes him/her out will get $50. No team driving allowed, not even on a sandbagger. If an official sees you have the ability to make a clean hit and you lock your brakes up to slide into them, you will be issued a sandbagging flag. Official's decision is final. The 2nd time this happens your flag will be broken. Cars must move when hit or show visible damage. No driver’s door hits will be allowed. No using the driver’s door for a shield will be allowed.
SAFETY RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Cars must have at least 2 bars attached from the roof down to the dash area to prevent the hood from coming in. You may use chain or 2 in. by 3/16 steel bars welded no more than 4 inches on roof or firewall area.
2. Radiator over flow hoses must be pointed at the ground and fastened so they cannot shoot water towards officials or other drivers.
3. Header pipes must be pointing straight up. They cannot be aimed towards front or side of cars.
4. Note: If you have a hole in the fire wall, it must be covered.
5. Safety belts are required. Must be worn at all times when in arena.
6. D.O.T. approved helmets are mandatory. Any driver using an open faced helmet will be required to wear safety goggles or shield.
7. Helmets must be worn at all times when in the arena.
8. Mandatory: You must wear long pants and a shirt. (fire suit recommended)
9. 1st fire is a warning and the 2nd fire in the same heat you are out. Then you must show official when re-entering arena it was fixed.
10. No alcoholic beverages or drugs are allowed in pit area or on the track.
11. NO PIT PERSONS ALLOWED ON THE TRACK. No drivers or fans in contact with judges if you or pit persons or fans of yours are in contact with judges you will be disqualified. If driver crawls out of car during a stop in action then you must exit arena area.
12. Note: Management does have the right to disqualify a car/driver at any time. Any person on the track or in the pit, causing trouble and not complying with the rules, will be asked to leave. (We can have you escorted off or have you arrested and banned from running future derbies.)
13. Protests must be made no later than 5 minutes after the heat or consolation in question. No protests will be taken after feature event. Only Drivers in this class are allowed to protest a car. $50 protest fee you get it back if you are right if not the driver you protested gets the protest money.
PREPARATION OF CARS
No screws are allowed on outside of car. PLASTIC GAS TANKS are allowed as long as they are in a metal box.. (Heavy duty plastic racing fuel cells are allowed.) No wedging, no sedagons, no jeeps, no trucks (ranchero and El Caminos are considered trucks), no carryalls, no hearse, no limos, no convertibles, no imperials 73 and older or imperial subs. No sub changes. All glass, chrome, pot metal, lights, carpet, headliner, back seats, fiber glass and anything else that is flammable must be removed before reaching the exhibit area. (Do not break glass down in the doors.) Trunks must be empty of all debris, spare tire rims, parts, etc. Wagons must have spare tire flap removed or hole cut in it for inspectors to see.
ABSOLUTELY NO welding besides what is stated in these rules. All 9 wire must be tied to the car so not to fall off in the arena. UNLIMITED 9-WIRE. This does not apply where rules specify how much wire you can use, i.e. doors and bumpers or where used for reinforcement.
MANDATORY
Car must have number on the roof with name on roof above front doors. Use your choice of number. You must have a roof sign with minimum of 12 inch numbers on both sides of sign. No profanity allowed on cars.
ENGINE
Engine swaps are allowed. The lower engine mount may be welded or bolted with three 3/8" bolts to the frames cross-member. You can make modifications when mounting examples GM to Mopar or GM to Ford but it HAS to be mounted similar to how the original motor was mounted from the factory. Which means it can only be bolted to the car frame and has to have rubber mounts between the car frame and engine mount. Absolutely no metal to metal contact between the car and engine mount . No pulley protectors or anything the inspectors see as a pulley protector.
You may use 2 chains to retain one on each side or use two straps, 2 in. by 3/16 thick to hold motor in. It can ONLY be welded to TOP of frame no more than 3 inch long weld. The strap cannot be farther forward than the stock mounted water pump. You may use header pipes. Must have stock motor mount bolted or welded to cross member, If stock mount not used it will be up to the inspection to ok best to use stock mount. If welded you may not add any material.
No pulley protectors, distributor protectors, Header protectors, NO CRADLES, metal fan shrouds, or carburetor protectors allowed.
RADIATORS
It must be an automotive radiator, remain stock, and in the stock location. No homemade radiators allowed.
TRANSMISSION
Transmission coolers are allowed. They must have double clamps on all rubber to steel lines. No transmission protectors allowed. Aftermarket steel bell housing is allowed but must be close to factory specs. Transmission may have chain to secure. Cross member must be bolted in. If you don’t have a cross member you must use a piece of 2x4x1/4 C- Chanel and it must be bolted in with a max 4- 3/8 bolts with 1 inch washers.
BATTERY
The battery must be in the front passenger side and be covered with something nonflammable like rubber tube, rubber floor mat, etc. Batteries must be secured so they don’t move. 2-12 volt batteries max.
SUSPENSION
Suspension must remain stock. No welding on the shocks, no trailer hitches, special lifts, blocks, air shackles, air shocks. Air lifts must be deflated. Screw in spring spacers ok. Shocks ok if after market. No homemade shocks.
REAR ENDS
Rear ends must be 5 lug. Rear end swaps allowed example- GM to Ford Must be a stock rear end, no Hybrid rear ends or axle protectors allowed. Locking of the rear ends permitted. Stock mounting for make, year and model of car required. No braces or axle protectors. You may use a 3/8 chain around frame and to axle 1 wrap only. You may 9 wire or chain lower coil spring to spring pocket. After market gears in rear end are allowed.
DRIVE SHAFTS
It must be OEM stock drive shaft other than modifications of yokes with rear end swaps.
TRAILING ARMS & A-ARMS
They must be factory with absolutely no reinforcing, shortening or lengthening. You may 9 wire A-arms or bolt down with 5/8 max bolt with 1 ½ od washers. Or you may use 1 3/8 chain 1 wrap around a-arm to frame per side.
STEERING COLUMN/BRAKES/SHIFTER
The steering column must be stock. You may put steering knuckle at rag joint. Brakes must work. You may use a bolt in pedal assembly in the driver’s floor board and must be bolted to sheet metal only. You may put shifter on the floor or attached to the tranny. A cable shifter is ok.
HOOD
Hood must remain in the factory position with no sliding forwards and folding down over the front.. 6 hood bolts allowed but only 2 may go through the frame outside of radiator support and cannot be directly in front or behind the radiator they must be bolted to the frame not welded in or you can weld your bolts to the core support with no more than 3" down from the top of the core support or fender ABOUSOULTY NO ADDED METAL WHEN WELDING JUST WELD THE BOLT lN. Judges decisions are final if the bolt is serving to hold the hood down versus reinforcement. This rule will be strictly in-forced. Bolts must not be any bigger than 1 inch with hood washers no bigger than 5 inches outside diameter. You must have 2 holes cut in the hood big enough for fire extinguisher. Not directly over carburetor. You may use 20 bolts around header holes no bigger than SAE 3/8 with washers no bigger than 1 inch.
TRUNK
You can use 4- 1 in. bolts in trunk and 2 may go through frame with washers no bigger than 5 inches outside diameter. Trunk lids must remain on factory hinges. Tucking or V’ing of trunk lid is allowed, but absolutely no wedging. You may chain or 9 wire or bolt with 3/8 bolts with 1 inch od washers up to 10 places total on deck lid, if bolting it can only go through drip edge. Wagon gates are considered same as deck lid. NO MORE THAN 50% OF TRUNK MAY BE TUCKED.
BODY
No seam welding and no patching is allowed. Pre-denting is okay. Body must be stock to frame.
FENDERS
Fenders may be trimmed and 10 bolts may be used per fender. Bolts are to be no bigger than 3/8 with washers no bigger than 1 inch outside diameter. You may have 2 wraps 4 strands of 9 wire from fender to fender in front of radiator not connected to bumper. This wire must be ran behind or in front of wire from core support or hood to bumper.
BODY MOUNT BOLTS
They must be factory. Bushings must be factory. If missing a body bolt, you may use factory size bolt for fix. If bushing is missing, you may wire mount with 9 wire. Do not remove rubber mount or you will 9 wire it or load it.
FRAME
Absolutely no welding is allowed on frame. No reinforcing of frame whatsoever. You can notch the frame. You may pre bend frame. You may not put fix-it patch on a fresh car. You may patch or fix the frame with a max of 6-6x4x1/4 plates per car. Three (3) patches are allowed per frame rail uni-body cars will be considered 1 frame rail per side. There must be visible damage to the frame, i.e. tear or bend. A patch may not be closer than 1 inch to another patch, which means 1 inch between welds on patch. If you have to patch after your heat and have 6 plates, one must be removed before one is added.
DOORS
Driver’s door may be welded solid with a strap no bigger than 3 inches, on the outside only. On the driver’s only, you may reinforce inside the car however you want as long as it does not attach to the frame and does not go past door seams of driver’s door more than 8 inches and is deemed safe by inspectors. You must have a safety bar welded or bolted. If bolted, must have 4 bolts through bar to body. Bar cannot go past door seam by more than 8 inches. All other doors may be chained up to 6 places per door or wired 6 places per door. On wagon’s tailgates, NO WELDING is allowed.
CAGE
You may have a cage with two side bars, one on the driver’s door and one on the passenger door; and two cross bars, one behind the seat and one at the dash. The cage cannot extend past the dash area in the front and must be no further back than 8 inches behind the front seat or behind the front doors, rear door seam, i.e. 2 door cars. This can be welded in. Absolutely no kickers are allowed. You may have 5 down bars. They cannot go to the frame. sheet metal only. You may have a halo bar it cannot be any farther back than the seat bar. None of the cage or halo can connect to the frame. A halo cannot connect to the windshield bars or the roof sign. You may have a gas tank protector connect to seat bar going around tank, it must not be closer than 4" from sheet metal.
FRONT BUMPERS: You can either BOLT or WELD--- YOU CAN'T DO BOTH--NO CUTTING THE FRAMES DOWN!
OPTION # 1: No welding on bumpers. They can be wired, chained from mount to mount. You may remove brackets but cannot add any, i.e. you can put bolts or chain anywhere between the mounts to the car, 6 bolts 1 inch max 24 inches long per piece may be used to bolt front and rear bumper on. No welding of shocks or brackets. If you have an aluminum bumper you may change it to a stock model bumper for that make. Bumper swaps are ok, MOPAR to GM ie. Brackets must be stock to the car you are running. No changing the mounting brackets for the make, model and year of car is allowed. Brackets must be in stock mounting position on frame. NO WELDING OF SKINS. Make sure the bumpers are well secured. We don’t want to pick them up all night. --DO NOT CUT ENDS OF FRAMES DOWN--
OPTION #2: Same as above with bumper swaps—GM to FORD, MOPAR to GM Bumper brackets must remain stock for the car. NO WELDING ON BUMPER SKIN. You can weld your factory bumper bracket to the frame to its stock location (do not alter or move the bracket forwards and backwards) and bumpers can be welded to the bracket----NO ADDED METAL THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED .. NO PLATING ON MOPAR Y FRAMES. You are allowed to collapse the factory bumper shock. . You can remove the bracket completely, or flush with frame and hard nose the bumper directly to the frame and weld it, however; you CAN NOT cut the end of the frame down (i.e. Crown Vics) or alter the core support location in any fashion. Core support bolts must remain to stock location. You are still allowed to 9 wire and chain bumper from mount to mount.
NO STUFFING OR LOADING OF BUMPERS. Must be stock.
BACK BUMPERS:
Must be in stock location and can be bolted on per Option #1. NO welding..
GAS TANKS
A maximum of 7 gallons of gas is allowed. Fuel cells/metal boat tanks must be placed in back seat area and properly secured. NO STOCK TANKS. Fuel cells must be secured so there is no movement. (Do not use bungee cords for this.) If tank is not secure you will not be running. Fuel cells must have secure caps and be leak proof. All fuel lines must have no leaks. Stock gas tanks must be removed or have holes in them and washed out. NO PLASTIC TANKS. (Heavy plastic racing fuel cells may be used.) Tanks must be covered with non-flammable material. Tank must be mounted in center or behind driver’s seat and can have a protector connected to cage for safety--4" from sheet metal.
TIRES/ Wheels
Any tire allowed up to 16 inch, Tire inside of tire is okay. No fluid allowed inside of tires. No valve stem protectors allowed. no wheel weights. Make sure you remove them even from your spares. Weld in centers are allowed maximum of 9 inch diameter and ¼ thick. Maximum of 16 inch wheels will be allowed.

2018 Welded Class
1.Any make of automobile, 1950 and up may be entered as long as the vehicle is not a pickup, truck, or jeep.
No four wheel drives, NO Chrysler Imperials or Desoto, NO ambulances or hearses will be allowed. No trucks, jeeps,
Convertibles, carryalls, and NO Imperial/Desoto sub frame cars. Suicide Lincolns will be allowed.
2.All glass, chrome, name plates, pot metal, plastic, small grill prices, and anything else that might break off or
fall off must be removed from car prior to entry on grounds. No wagon decking will be allowed.
3. Concrete, metal plate, wood, foam and pins in the frame and doors will NOT be allowed.
4. The stock gas tanks must be removed. A maximum 10 gallon gas tank must be located in the rear seat
compartment and fastened and covered securely.
5. Batteries must be moved to front seat compartment and fastened securely. Batteries and fuel cells must be
covered with metal or rubber mat. No more than two automotive or marine batteries allowed.
6. Radiators and fans may be removed but not relocated. You cannot use your heater core for a radiator
7. Transmission coolers may be placed inside the car. Electric fans or ice may be used.
8. Body mounts may be changed to 1 inch bolts or less. A 5” by 5” by ¼” plate may be used inside the car as a
washer on the top side of the body mounts. You can suck body to frame. Do not weld body to frame. You may
add 2 extra body mounts inside of car only. Rear humps forward. Not in truck area.
9. Car trunk lids may be folded inside the trunk compartment. You cannot weld lid inside of car.
10. Air conditioning condenser cores may be placed in front of the radiator. No other reinforcement such as expanded
metal may be used.
11. No tires larger than 16” allowed. A tire mounted inside of a tire is allowable.
12. WHEELS: No bead lock or screwed wheel. 16 inch wheel are allowed. ¾ ton rear ends and must be 6 lug only.
Only have 5 lug nuts total per wheel and no floater rear-ends allowed. No solid wheels are allowed.
13. Air cleaner must be left in place.
14. Firewalls must be covered with inter tube if there is a hole. Distributor protectors allowed, must be attached to
engine or transmission only, backside must be no wider than 12 inches. If you run a Distributor Protector do not
mount your dash bar closer than 6 inches from the back of the distributor protector or tranny protector. Distributor
protect can touch firewall. If you do not run a distributor protector, you may run a kicker from frame to dash bar but
can only go 6 inches in front of firewall. Kicker can only be no bigger than 1 inch and can only be welded on the top side
of frame. You may put a 1inch by 1 inch plate on the top of the frame so you can weld the kicker to. It cannot go down
the side of the frame. YOU CAN NOT HAVE BOTH (THE DISTRUTOR PROTECT OR THE KICKER. ONE OR THE OTHER). If your
engine mounts are broke, this means you can use a cradle but you will not be allowed to have kickers. No exceptions.
15. Modifications are allowed but the car must be running on gasoline.
16. Coil spring rear end cars can NOT be changed to a leaf spring rear end. No main leafs may be substituted for sub leafs.
All cars may have a total of 9 leafs and can only be 5/16 inches thick. You must also make sure you have a 2 inch
stagger. You may reinforce tie rods with a 3/8 by 8 inch rod, no modification of A arms, leaf springs and coil.
This means you can swap out A arm for A arm but you cannot reinforce A arm with added metal. A-arms can have
(two) 2 inch wide X 6 inch long and ¼ inch thick straps welded to frame per a-arm. If you choose not to straps the a-arms
down, you can weld the A-Arm down but only weld two 2 inch wide welds per A-arm. If you choose not to strap or
weld and want to bolt A-arms down, you must use( two) 3/8 bolts per A-arm. You can have factory twist in spacers in
front and rear coils springs. You can have 4 extra clamps per side on rear of leaf springs and they can only be no bigger
than 2inch wide by 4inch long by ¼ inch thick. You can have factory twist in spacers in front and rear coils spring.
17. You can stuff upper and lower control arms.
18. A fire extinguisher must be placed in car and securely mounted within easy access to the driver.
19. You may place slogans and/or advertising (no obscenities) anywhere on the car except on the front door.
You must put the car number in large print on the front doors with the driver’s name above the number.
You must put car number upright on the roof of the car.
20. All cars must have working brakes.
21. No paint or undercoating allowed on frames.
22. #9 wire is allowed. 1 spot per window and it can have 2 complete wraps and can go around frame
23. You can pre-fold body but you cannot weld, this means do not create your own seems and weld.
24. 80s and newer–you are allowed to tilt (You are allowed to cut the frame at the box, pull it down, and re-weld it.),
May tilt frames but you may only use 12 inches of weld per side. You may add factory gussets off a newer Vic and install on an older Vic.
No homemade gussets will be allowed.
25. Watts-Link Conversions – You may convert a Watts Link Ford to a Standard GM rear end in the following way: Use the
trailing arm brackets off an older Ford of the same size and thickness. No positioning of the brackets to strengthen
the front down leg of the rear hump. You may cut out the coil spring frame tray from an earlier Ford and weld it in the
newer Ford. When welding only one pass ¼”maximum no stronger than stock. No homemade bracket will be allowed
26. 2003 and Newer Fords, Do not change out the aluminum cross member it must remain stock. You can build your engine cradle to
go around existing cross member but you must leave a small hole so we can sheet the aluminum cradle the cradle can not
be more than 14” long and 3/4" thick. IF YOU DO THIS YOU ARE ONLY ALLOWED 6 PLATES INSTEAD OF 8. You can change steering
components but they must not weld to the frame. Bolted in with no modifications. You may remove the Aluminum cross member
and replace it with a metal cross member from another square or bubble Ford—EX.. No Desoto, Imperial cross members. NO ADDITIONAL METAL ALLOWED!
27. Rear-ends: You may brace the back housing and axle protectors are allowed. 14 bolt rear-ends allowed--rearends must be 5 lug!
28. May chain rear differential to the floor or humps. (3/8 chain max.) or 2 wraps of # 9 wire per side NO PINNING!
29. K-frames must leave one ear up. Y-frames you can close the gap with a 1/4 inch thick plate but must have
1/4 hole for scoping
30. No Frame Pinning and No Fame Lacing
31. All framed holes must be open, no welding shut or washers added!
32. May tie frame rails together at rear end with a chain or 2 raps of #9 wire( no further forward than hump
DERBY RULES
1.One driver door hit is a warning unless it is intentional. 2ND door hit and you are out.
2. If you are pushed into a driver door or are on the brakes and the door contact is a soft bump, you will be allowed to
continue.
3. Anytime 2 wheels or more of the car is outside of the boundary the car will have one minute to return. Four wheels out
and car is disqualified from heat.
4. Any car with gasoline spilling or leaking will be disqualified from heat.
5. Drivers must remain in their cars until the event director has declared the heat is over, except in the case of a fire.
6. When the calling goes out for each heat and final heat, driver is responsible for being on the track in 2 minutes or he will
be disqualified.
7. Helmets with face shields or helmets with goggles must be worn at all times. Seat belts and shoulder harness must be
worn at all times.
8. Any door that comes open will be disqualified.
9. Driver must make a hit within 1 minute unless car is stalled out and you will have 2 minutes
10. Car catches on fire two times in one heat will be disqualified from heat.
DERBY RULES**WELDING EXCEPTIONS
1. The only welding on the frame is from the transmission cross member forward and can only be ½ inch wide weld. Top
and bottom seams only. Do NOT weld anywhere else on the frame unless stated. Do not X frame. No welding
will be allowed inside of cars. If a car is brought in with welds, you must cut all the way through and no slobbers allowed.
2. The hood must be securely bolted with a maximum of eight all threads not to exceed one inch in diameter (must be able
to open). The only bolts or all thread allowed to go through the frame are the two located at the radiator core support.
All other bolts or all thread must be sheet metal to sheet metal only. Hood washers may not exceed 3/8 inch thick by 5
inch square. Two bolts or all thread (not to exceed 1 inch in diameter) are allowed in the trunk and can go thru frame.
Trunk may be chained around rear bumper but must not go around the frame or rear axle. Trunk and doors may be
securely welded on the outside only. You can fold top of doors down and weld together. No added material used. You
cannot weld on hoods; You can use 25 bolts which can be ¼ inch thick to reattach braces to hood.
3. Holes must be cut in hood, (a min. of (2) 6”by 6” each) A 12” hole must be cut in trunk. Trimming the body for tire
clearance allowed (a maximum of eight 3/8 inch bolts per wheel well with a maximum on inch O.D. washer will be
allowed. You may cut and weld rear fender wells also.
4. A safety bar may be welded or bolted behind driver’s seat not to exceed 4 inch in diameter. Bar may extend from door
post to door post, but preferred to run diagonally from driver’s door to hump in floor board. A four point internal side
cage (includes dash bar, side bars, and bar behind seat) will be allowed. Side bars must not extend further than 18 inches
behind rear edge of front door. Side bar cannot be bigger than 4 inch. You may also run a kicker from the door bar down
to the floor or frame, do not extend any further forward than the front door seam, between the dash bar and seat bar, on
both sides. You may connect the rear halo to the frame but cannot go further back than 18 inches from the front door
seam. Gas tank protectors can be used but can only be only 24 inch long. It can be 3 inch or less in diameter and must be
1 inch away from untouched sheet metal behind gas tank. You can either go forward or angle and tie back into seat bar.
You may weld ONE bar no bigger than 2” from the roof straight down to floor pan under speaker deck, you may put a 5”X5” plate on each side of bar to secure due to thin metal, DO NOT ANGLE THE BAR !! DO NOT CONNECT TO HALO BAR!!
5. Driver’s door must have reinforcement brace on inside or outside of door. Driver’s door bar on the outside can cover
driver’s side door and passenger side door but not to exceed past passenger side door. Foam may be place in drivers
door area to protect driver. You may also stick 4x4 wooden post in the driver side door only. One 4 stran wrap of 9 nine per window opening allowed..
6. DO NOT install special bumpers, extra weights, trailer hitches, special lift kits, or any reinforcement except as set out in
rules. No modifications of suspension allowed. Shocks may not be altered but you can have the coil over shocks. No coil
over shocks allowed on front end.
7. A bar or chain must be welded in where windshield would be. The windshield protector will not be used for reinforcement.
8. Door seams, trunk lid seams, and wagon gate seams may be welded with 3” by 1/4 “strap or with ½” rebar (in line with
the seam). You cannot over lay material anywhere on the car. This means do not weld a 2 inch followed by a 1 or even 2
inch. Smaller material may be used. You can also weld the inner door seams with a 3” strap. This is the only thing you
can weld inside of the car.
9. A maximum of (2) straps 2” by ¼” can be welded from front bumper to core support. A maximum of (2) straps 2” by ¼
can be welded from rear bumper to trunk lid. All straps on the front and back must be placed vertically.
10. Factory bumper mounts may be welded to the frame without using filler material.
11. Shock bumper mounts may be welded without using filler material and cannot be more than 18 inches long. If you
choose to use the Pontiac bumper brackets on the front bumper, they cannot be no longer than 18 inches. If you
choose to not have bumper brackets/shocks, I will only be allowing a 10 inch long by 6 inch wide by 3/8 inch thick
plate to replace bumper bracket/shock. No homemade Pontiac bumper brackets will be allowed.
12. Bumper swaps are allowed. Chevy to Ford, Chrysler to Chevy. Loaded or homemade bumpers are allowed.
No concrete or wood. (2) 3X3 square tubing is allowed for homemade bumpers. This means the bumper may be 6 inch
Tall by 3 inch wide. You may also add a point to the front of the bumper. The point can only go out 11 inches from the
Back of the bumper or 8 inches from the front of the bumper. The point is only allowed to be 24 inches wide which
mean go out 12 Inches from the middle to each side. You may use the same width on the point which is 6 inches tall.
You may also fill in the gap of the point with 3/8 plate and no bigger. Must have a small hole to scope. Stock bumpers
that you want to stuff, you can only use the same size or smaller material. You may also build a pointy bumper out of
the stock bumper but must use same dimension as homemade bumpers. The length of the bumper cannot go past the
outside of the front tires. You may cover with existing chrome bumper.
13. Bumper skin may be cut and folded down and welded. You may relocate rear bumper and lay in truck. You
are not allowed to load rear bumper if you install in trunk. You are only allowed to cut holes in bumper and put the all
tread that is running through your trunk from frame or trunk pan through the bumper and put
plate on top of bumper with nut and then your all-treads run up through trunk lid. You are not able to weld or
re-position bumper any other way. If so, you will be asked to remove bumper. If bumper is put in truck, you must put
the 2’ inch strap from bumper bracket to body and weld. We do not want the bumper brackets to be sticking out and
puncture the side of another car.
14. Motor mounts may be welded as long as it does not reinforce frame. You can only go straight down and do not extend
out.
15. Pre-run cars may patch a hole in the body of the car, but not replace the whole side of the car. If you patch a hole you
must use sheet metal no greater than the sheet metal that makes up the original car body. This patch may overlap the
outside of the hole 2”X 4” don’t push your luck
16. No welding of the suspension. You can weld main leaf mounting brackets to prevent them from coming unbolted.
Rear-end control arm may be shortened or lengthened but must be rewelded. You can weld coil springs at the base.
(So they don’t fly out)
17. The steering column from steering wheel to gearbox may be altered.
18. Welding machines can be allowed in pit area.
19. All cars may have plates welded to the frame and you may have 8 total plates (4X6) and can be ¼ inch thick. Maximum
8 plates per car fresh or used. YOU ARE ONLY ALLOWED 6 PLATES IF YOU BUILT YOUR OWN CROSS MEMBER ON 03' AND NEWER .. You must leave an inch between welds on plates. This means you cannot butt plates
together. If you have a preran car and you already have 8 plates and you have to add another plate,
you must completely cut one plate off to add another plate. The plates can only be welded on the
side of the frames. No welding the plates on the top and bottom of the frame. ONLY 8 plates total and I am not going
off square inches.
21. You may weld the core support and inner fenders to outer fenders. DO NOT USE ADDED FILLER. WELD ONLY.
22. Sedagons are allowed but you are not allowed to weld the top post to the bottom post. You can only tuck roof inside of
car and use the 2 all threads or # 9 wire where ALLOWED one 4 strans wrap per window opening..
Power Wheels Rules
1. Power Wheels Heat is for kids 7 and under and 8-12 years of age. Depending on the number of entries, they may all run one heat using a regular sized electric Power Wheel.
2. You can replace the factory battery with either a 12 volt lawn mower battery or car battery (battery cannot be mounted in the passenger seat). The replaced battery must be secured and sealed away from child (Suggestion: Roto Zip out a space where previous battery was, cover battery with an inner tube, strap in or use spray foam to secure and stabilize the battery from moving around).
3. Helmets must be worn.
4. All doors, hoods, and tailgates must be strapped shut. No Sharp edges. Use zip ties, duct tape, or other flexible product like liquid nails to hold the doors shut.
5. Kids are encouraged to paint and give their Power Wheel character.
6. Tires may be covered in duct tape to prevent them from breaking up or wrap with lawn mower tread for better traction.
7. Factory plastic bumpers must remain in place. No reinforcing the body
8. Motor must remain factory with no modifications besides the battery replacement.
9. Decorative changes can be made to Power Wheels to make it look like a derby car but it cannot reinforce the power wheel, only add decoration.
10. Remember this is for little kids and for fun. If you have made modifications, your child will not be able to participate and will be so disappointed.
