I'm Gonna have to agree with Nick on that one...I think if one car is allowed hump plates then all should, yes the GMs are weak in the humps but everyone knows that an no one is forcing you to run them....

VICS AND LINCOLNS- FRONTS SUCK UNLESS YOU CAN TILT. GM`S, REARS SUCK UNLESS YOU CAN PLATE THE HUMPS. MAYBE INSTEAD OF ALLOWING ANYTHING, JUST STRIP THEM AND GO. NO SWAPPING MOTORS, REAR ENDS, ANYTHING..... SEE HOW LONG THAT LASTS. BUT.... YOU WOULDNT HAVE ANYTHING TO BITCH ABOUT SO THAT WOULDNT WORK.........THE WAY SOME PEOPLE DRIVE, THEY MIGHT NEED TO WORRY MORE ABOUT IF THEIR GAS PEDAL WORKS, RATHER THAN IF THEY CAN TILT OR PLATE SOMETHING THAT WONT GET USED ANYWAY.... DERBIES HAVE SERIOUSLY GONE DOWNHILL IN THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS, AND DAREN IS WANTING TO GET MORE PEOPLE INTERESTED BY ALLOWING CERTAIN THINGS THAT BENEFIT ONE MAKE, AND OTHERS THAT BENEFIT ANOTHER. IF THE FRAMES ON GM`S AND VICS WERE DESIGNED THE SAME WAY, NO ONE WOULD CARE.......

im no expert by any means here. but ive ran a tilted vic and an non tilted vic and both had the same out come.... and both fronts where used many times, just because i didnt drive up the butt of somebody or made stupid hits . maybe its put back onto the driver not how the frame is bent down or left alone. im for what ever the driver prefers.... a car is built to out last the other ones. of u choose to drive an underbuilt car thats all up to you.

AND DAREN, THANKS FOR THE RULES CLARIFICATION. I KNOW WHAT ILL BE DOING. JON ARE YA GONNA GRACE US WITH YOUR PRESENCE IN EMPORIA ;D My guess is yes with a 77 caddy with hump plates. If your going to allow gms to hump plate you might as well allow 03s to change the cradle.

AS A 2003 AND NEWER CROWN VIC HAS A BOLT IN CRADLE, WELDING A NEW ONE IN WOULD SURELY VIOLATE SOME ASPECT OF THE RULES. THAT, AS WELL AS CHANGINGING THE REAR SUSPENSION FROM A WATTS LINK SET UP TO A 4 LINK WOULD ALSO BE A HUGE CHANGE. YOU COULD TAKE ANY CAR, ANY YEAR AND FIX ALL ITS FAULTS BUT THEN WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE? A COBBLED UP CREATION THAT WOULD NEVER BEND. ADD IN 30 OTHER SIMILAR CARS AND YOU SEE WHERE THIS IS GOING. FOR YEARS, NO ON WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT TITLTING VICS, EVERYONE CRIED" LETS MAKE THE VICS COMPETE WITH OLD IRON, WE NEED TO TILT" AND THEY BRAINWASHED THEMSELVES INTO BELIEVING THAT.... NOW, IN AN 80`S AND UP CLASS THAT GM CARS SHOULDNT BE ALLOWED A CONCESSION TO HELP THEM.....GET REAL. USUALLY ITS THE GUYS WHO BITCH ABOUT RULES THAT ARE SEEN CUTTING ON THEIR CARS FOR AN HOUR BEFORE THE SHOW BECAUSE THEY COULDNT READ THE RULES. YOU WANT VARIETY IN DEMOLITION DERBY? THEN ONE MUST MAKE A HARD LINE IN THE SAND ON RULES. "DONT CRY, JUST DERBY" ISNT THAT THE LINE EVERYONE LOVES??? WELL, THERE YA GO........... .

That not any more than the seem weld on a Vic to weld the cradle in. My car at the expocenter show had every seam firewal forward welded including the cradle. The only difference on the 03 would be adding the metal cradle. You can buy bolt in brackets to convert the ass end

Crusher I will give it to you, you know alot about building a car and you don't get all the respect that one with your knowledge should. But everyone always reads what you post and what you think but we never see you run. So unless you are going to build and run this show please stop with you long post and just let it be!!

I know that it may not sound like much but I am now considering on running this show because of the allowing of hump plates on GM’s. I also know a few more people that are considering running too because of the rule. I’m not asking for a cookie or anything just saying that without this rule none of us would even be considering it. You can’t knock the promoter for trying something new to pull in more people to their event, far as I can tell his plan is working.
On the argument of this rule giving the advantage to GM’s over vics or mopars, I don’t think that it does, all it is doing is leveling the playing field. At least this alteration makes sense, unlike a lot of other things people are allowed to do to demo cars these days. Why does a ford product need a distributor protector, a SBF has the distributor on the front. But most people feel the need to install a SBC with doing so a problem is created, but you are allowed to fix that. This rule is allowing the builder to fix a default created by the factory not the builder. And with the argument of “ if you bring an under built car, that’s your own fault”, not saying it’s not a valid argument, but using that reasoning, if allowing these plates make a superior car than isn’t that what you would be building, then why would you complain?

ITS REALLY SIMPLE, VICS GET TILTING, GM GETS HUMP PLATES. BOTH ALLOWANCES ADDRESS AN ISSUE THAT EACH RESPECTIVE CAR HAS. AS FAR AS RUNNING, I RAN THE STATE FAIR THIS YEAR WITH A PRERAN WAGON, GOT THIRD. A LITTLE RUSTY. BUT........ WITH THESE RULES, NOW THE GM CARS WILL HAVE THE SAME OPPERTUNITY TO GET INTO THE FEATURE AND RUN. WHATSA MATTER, YOU GUYS HAVE ONLY BEEN BUYING CROWN VICS AND PASSING BY ON THE GM`S AND CADDIES?? VERY FOOLISH..... A WISEMAN BUYS EVERYTHING AND FILTERS IT OUT AS HE GOES, A SQUIRREL WHO ONLY STASHES ONE TYPE OF NUT FOR WINTER WILL BE A HUNGRY SQUIRREL IN FEBRUARY..... GET THE LOGIC. IF YOU THINK THAT HUMP PLATES WILL MAKE A CADDY UNSTOPPABLE, ILL SELL YOU AN 84 FLEETWOOD 2 DOOR..... THEN YOU WONT CRY ABOUT "I CANT FIND ONE"......... THE RULES ARE FINE..............YOU GUYS NEED A TYLENOL.......

I THINK THE RULES ARE JUST FINE THE WAY THEY ARE WRITTEN, PRETTY EQUAL ACROSS THE BOARD AS FAR AS WEEK POINTS TO THE MAKES. LETS JUST BE HAPPY THAT DARRIN IS MAKIN THE EFFORT TO SEE THINGS A LITTLE MORE THAN OTHERS AND NOT BITCH AND COMPLAIN ABOUT THE LITLE THINGS. HOW ABOUT EVERYBODY GOES WITH THE WAY IT IS WRITTEN AND THEN AFTERWARDS LET THE BITCHIN COMMENCE AS IT ALWAYS DOES
