Have had several questions about rusted floorboards on sub-frame cars and how to repair them. I have a VERY specific way that I want them repaired, so you need to contact me before you start fixing them. If it's a full frame car, pictures or a phone call will work. On Sub-framers, I need to see it and I'll explain how you can fix it. Thanks -Jay

UPDATE!!!
The fairboard tonight approved $500 for a PowderPuff heat. Here are the stipulations.
This is going to be a five car minimum or not at all and the cars need to be pre-registered with ME at least 10 days prior to the show. So that means that by 5pm on Tuesday the 24th, I have to have confirmation of at least five cars that will be running. If not, we will scrap it and try again next year (Hopefully). This will be it's own heat and will be run before the features to give more time for repairs in the other classes. This means that you have to bring a car specifically for this heat. No running one of the full size or hobo cars at the end of the night. You have to be signed up and registered ahead of time. Let me know if that isn't clear enough.
The rules are the same as Full Size with two exceptions.
-Old Iron will be allowed (No Imperials, Imperial Sub Frames, or Suicide Lincolns) -Fresh and used cars will be allowed 24" of plates per frame rail. This is spelled out in the rules quite clearly how the plates can be used and the thickness of the metal allowed.
Inspections will be the same for all classes, so don't expect to be allowed anything "extra" just because you are running in this special class.
Good luck ladies and get your asses signed up to make this happen.
Text me or call me to register. -Jay

[glow=red,2,300]Update....#2[/glow]
as of this very second, I have NO...I repeat, NO cars signed up for the Powder Puff. Zero...Zilch...None.
I have heard rumors that there are people saying that there are three cars signed up and the remaining spots will be paid in order to have the heat. Listen up folks to what I am saying. I have to have five CARS! Not just five paid entries.
I can't be more clear. I want this to happen, but it has to happen the right way. Come on Ladies! Lets get some cars entered and show the other big shows that this can happen. -Jay

**ANNOUNCEMENT**
I have been working behind the scenes and am proud to announce that there will be Mad Dog Money for each of the three classes this year. I have found a few local sponsors to put up a little cash. I'm still working on it, but I believe that I will have a $500 prize for each class. This will be voted on by the same persons who put the money up and they will work as a team to select the driver who works the hardest and hits the most consistently. As far as I know, there has never been mad dog money in Lawrence and it's something I always wanted as a driver. Well, now it's going to happen. Good luck folks. -Jay

Had a good question on the Hobo Class.
The rules are pretty clear about no bumper swaps or reinforcement, but you ARE able to trim/cut the ends to keep them out of the tires. I should have thought of that and will update that rule for next year. Good luck and see you in a few weeks. -Jay

I do like them because they make it much easier to see who is who, but no, they are not required.

I am told that there was a little confusion at Ottawa last night about homemade cross members. Apparently a set of rules has surfaced that isn't specific about what kind and type of crossmember can be used.
This thread and the Douglas County Fair website have the correct set of rules and the set that will be in play the night of the derby.
If you show up the night of the show with an illegal cross member and waving a set of rules that has been printed anyplace other than from one of these two websites, you won't have any luck getting my attention. Clear? Great. See you all in two weeks! -Jay
