Well the one thing that I liked about y'all as promoters is that you stuck to your rules but apparently for this show you aren't I mean how the same promoters can have two shows back to back and the rules be different when we started building these three powderpuff cars we were told to build them to the 80s rules so we did and now you aren't sticking to that now you are letting HARD old iron cars in now the problem isn't with the old iron cars it's with the rule change so needless to say yo lost out on three powderpuff cars and two compacts from our shop and it's a shame too cause I bragged to others about how y'all stuck to your guns at Lawrence that won't be happening anymore

The old iron is it's own heat away from the powder puff he said he is letting hard cars in the old iron only I will bet that the 80a and powder puff will be different

We are running this show the same as we did last year. The 80's have their own rules; the Old Iron has it's own rules; and then....and only then....at the end of the night, we will have a powder puff heat. I won't turn anybody away that wants to run, so therefore you need to be built to the "hardest" class that could possibly run.
How about NO Powder Puff next year at any of my shows? It seems to be the easiest answer here

How about NO Powder Puff next year at any of my shows? It seems to be the easiest answer here OR go strictly to 80s and newer for powder puff, under 80s and newer rules, no extra allowances (that normally slide in powder puff.) That solves a lot of issues and allows the ladies, that don't want to run with the guys, still run.

I had a lot of fun at Lawrence in the Powder Puff and would love to run Overbrook but I just don't think my car stands a chance against the Old Iron cars. Mine is a '74 but I built it to 80's and newer rules. I hate to have to throw iron in it to compete at one show, then have to cut it out to compete at the next. Not to mention that anyone with an 80's GM probably should not be running against the cars from the Old Iron Heat. I definitely don't think we should cancel powder puff derbies. I also don't think we should go to only 80's and newer cars. I think any year car but ALL built to the 80's rules is fair.
The comment made earlier by my husband was not to stir up anything or cause any problems, just simply pointing out the question of why the rules couldn't stay the same as Lawrence? Why have different rules for Powder Puff from show to show. It should be consistent so we can build our cars accordingly. We also have to take into account the rules for all the other powder puff shows around. I try to build one car that will get in everywhere with minor changes if necessary.

these two shows can't be run the exact same because they are NOT the same show. We did not have Old Iron in Lawrence and we do at Overbrook. If you will think back to last year, the car that won the Old Iron heat at Overbrook ran in the Powder Puff.
Wouldn't you rather know ahead of time how things will be then show up that day and see the cars you will be running against (like in Emporia earlier this summer)?
I can't win here. Some day, I hope every one of you tries to run a derby. It is getting to the point where it isn't worth it (because I make NO money and spend alot of my my time on it)

Wow this is has gone way to far. Last year top 3 were 80s cars. Do any of you remember how rough old iron overbrook gets? Yes they are hard hard cars but they have smart drivers in them who know the weak points of every car. I wouldnt ne suprised if most if the cars are hurtin b4 the pp and the other ladies (mainly the ones bitching) will be in fresh cool cars... Who has the advantage?

yes, they can. That's the cause of all this "ruckus". The Powder Puff cars are allowed to be built to the old iron standards and it isn't settling very well with some folks (understandably). Thanks for asking Derby. -Jay
