What do you mean? It will be one heat unless we get a whole bunch more cars than I'm expecting. I'm thinking 24 cars will force heats.

If I had to guess, I'd say we will have 12-16 Hobo cars, but I hope I'm totally wrong If...and I mean IF...we have more than 24 Hobo cars and we have to run heats of some sort, there will not be much you can do to your car before the feature. Change tires, possibly a radiator if you want, and hammer sheet-metal. No torching. That will pretty much be all that is allowed. Maybe this will put your mind at ease about parts to bring (if any). My thoughts are that if we have 24 cars (for example), we will run it down to 12 and shut it off and those 12 will come back for the "feature".

And a quick reminder about Hobo class.
Your tires HAVE to be DOT (street rated) tires. No Ag, skid steer, paddle, implement or any other tire you can't run on the road allowed. Got it? Good!

No torching? Or no welding?

I guess I assumed (incorrectly apparently) that it was a given that there would be no welding allowed in the no-weld class...ya knucklehead.
Hobo class = no welding...ever (except what's allowed in the rules) Thanks Jake

Ok...Ok...I guess I'm not being clear here.
No torching unless it's part of the initial inspection and you have to cut something to run. After that...no torching. If we run heats, you may not trim fenders, bumpers, or anything else with a torch, but you can pound them in with a sledge.
Picture this. A high school senior has built his first derby car out of his grandma's 1982 Chevy Caprice and he's pumped to run the Hobo Class. He's cut up his dads log chain to hold the doors and trunk. Bolted the hood shut and has the same tires on it his grandma drove on. He doesn't have tools, torches, or spare parts. He's just so excited to paint it and drive it like it's stolen. This is the kid I want to have a fair shot at winning and I'm not going to take away his chance because somebody else has the tools and spare parts. The Hobo Class is bone stock and I'm working very hard to keep it that way. Thanks for asking for clarification guys. If you guys wondered, then there were plenty more out there wondering.
p.s. This is also the kid and car I'm thinking about when I'm inspecting your car, so keep that in mind.
