I'm pretty sure we went through that 3 years ago Jon! Anyone who was at the derby knew why and I ran that car in Kansas 5 times that summer without changing anything. No need for me to give an old pro like you any information because it sounds like you already know it all!

First of all I would like to say we would have claimed that motor if it belonged to Santa. Its the principle, we want to keep the Hobo class stock. We have nothing against Nick! We cheered for him at Blizzard Bash and defended him when people talked badly of him after hitting the enforcer. He is a successful Derby car builder/driver, not many people can say that about their hobby. And secondly we were not the only ones who tried to claim that motor, the person who placed 4th in the Hobo class also tried to claim it. He argued that he should get first dibs since he placed higher than Robbie, but Robbie asked first so he got it. So I guess we weren't the only "white trash" with cash people there Friday night.

This claim rule aint going to work, its a good thing it happened with nick and not sombody else cause sometime down the road it will happen to sombody that aint so nice and all hell will break loose cops will be in the pits cause a fight broke out sombody will get hurt the fairboards insc will be liable and there goes the derby, dont think it will happen? Sure is a coincidence osage city stoped there's shortly after that kid got a bolt in the eye. Its got problems written all over it. You can rebuild a 350 yourself brand new just as cheap as you can buy a used engine somwhere else, and how many have hobo cars with a blown motor or no motor at all? Id say alot. Just because you got a 1000hp motor in a bone stock car doesnt guarantee your going to win.You can keep it a stock class with alittle work it doesnt need the claim rule

DROP THE CLAIM RULE BECAUSE "A FIGHT MAY BREAK OUT?" MAKES NO SENSE..... PEOPLE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN ACTIONS. IF YOU DONT WANT TO HAVE A GOOD ENGINE GET CLAIMED, DONT RUN ONE, PRETTY SIMPLE. I JUST RAN AT COWLEY AND WOULD HAVE GLADLY SOLD THE MOTOR AND TRANS I HAD FOR 600 BUCKS. I COULD BUY 2 MORE JUST LIKE IT, LET THOSE GET CLAIMED THEN BUY 4 MORE.......... THE RULE IS THERE TO ATTEMPT TO KEEP THE FIELD EQUAL DRIVELINE-WISE...IF SOME ONE DECIDES TO BE "NOT SO NICE", THEN THEY ARE DEFINITELY IN THE WRONG SPORT. ABIDE BY THE RULES, OR SUFFER WHEN YOU CHOOSE NOT TO, I THINK WE WERE ALL TAUGHT THAT IN KINDERGARTEN.....SEEMS LIKE MOST ADULTS FORGOT THAT LESSON ALONG THE WAY........

I think it's time to talk about the best part of the show in my opinion. The top two finishers in the hobo class! I want to congratulate both of them! When a 16 year old kid has a shot at a win then we finally have a class that just might keep this sport alive! And Of course I am partial but second place is a good finish for the first time in a full size car class against many seasoned drivers of course after running trucks it probably seemed like a Sunday drive. I wonder how many people in the stands have a renewed since that they also might have a chance if they build a car! I still remember when a hammer and chain we all you really needed to have a shot at being a hero for a night!

So just because someone can dump a few hundred bucks in a motor and tune it in good with a set of good sounding headers, its automatically a 1000hp, $10,000 outlaw motor? I have put that into a 4 cyl just to freshen it up and the $6000 4 bangers can still run cirlces around it. Nick has been around a day or 2 and even admitted he knew it would get claimed ahead of time. Obviously it was worth the $$ for 3rd place, plus the $600 for the motor. The guy had a cheap motor derby ready sitting around and just like everyone else, wanted to come play and didn't want to spend the time and money to build an 80's car or you can bet he would of been there in welded car. Everyone is so quick to point fingers and blame everyone else. SOME PEOPLE ARE KEYBOARD KINGS AND CAN TYPE IN ALL CAPS. I do think the claim rule should be looked at, being a long block claim (no headers, intake ect.) or something. I felt like it was a good derby all in all. I had fun out there and was even able to make a little money. Glad to see this show rising in numbers. I knew it would once it finally got an inspection crew that was consistent and not afriad to load cars, as well as keeping the same crew from year to year. Changing crews every year and then the payouts upping scared some people away at first, but I think everyone is realizing the crew is here to stay and will continue to improve the show and inspections. Good job to the officials at Lawrence and keep up the good work, its headed in a good direction.

YOU COULD TYPE IN ALL CAPS TOO, ITS EASY. JUST PRESS THE "CAPS LOCK" BUTTON...... OR ARE YOU A NEWBIE? ? NICK ROCKHOLD?? NEVER HEARD OF HIM...........LOL You might not have heard of me but any big name in Kansas knows me well. If you're so smart and know what everyone is doing to "cheat" their cars up then why the fuck would you say nick had a loaded firewall in Nebraska? Are you that big of an incompetent jackass to know the rules of a show you're gonna run your mouth about behind a keyboard? Grow a set of nuts in the real world other than the ones in your mouth and put up or shut up. You get on every post blah blah blah, whine whine whine. Nebraska didn't allow DP's dipshit and everyone cut their firewalls out for the distributor. Not much a "loaded firewall" will help out, but everyone bow down to derby keyboard god for knowing all. Pull your moms tit outta your mouth for 5 mins and you might actually learn to know what you're talking about before you go punching those keys oh caps lock master. Go ahead and come back with a reply and dog me and all the other derby drivers in the state except your little favorites I don't care and I'm just gonna let you make a fool of yourself from here on. Cudos!
