Anyone interested in a Derby Oct 12 or 19 in Harper. The Harper Chamber is willing to put on a derby this weekend in conjunction with their pink out the night campaign. I would like to get about 20-30 cars fresh or new if you want. You let me know what type of rules weather be no weld or rules we ran in last derby I'm open for suggestions. Pay out will be roughly the same as the last derby depends on car count. Let me know what you think. Call or reply on this thread.

Scott, 81 Speedway has a derby Oct 19t. I would lean towards the 12th would probly help the turnout. As for the rules you could do a weld class and a "one heat shootout bolt, chain, wire class" . Just an idea!! 25 cars at the last Harper derby is real good turnout....

If you run the same rules as last i would glue my car back together and run it again. I know a few guys that would do the same. Shane makes a good point about having it on the 12th. Due to 81 the next week.

PAYOUTS THAT ARE DEPENDENT ON CAR COUNTS USUALLY END UP SCREWING THE DRIVERS. TO GET DRIVERS TO COMMIT TO THIS SHOW, HAVE A PAYOUT THAT WONT CHANGE... KIND OF LIKE YOUR MAD DOG AWARD, YOU KNOW....THE ONE THAT LOST $100.00 IN VALUE AT LAST WEEKS SHOW..IMAGINE THAT.........

Stock class chain and bolt. Easier to throw together, might be a few left in south-central Kansas from this season, and rookies can compete with the experienced drivers.

I would have to disagree. Most everyone i can think of around these parts has a welded car. Chain and bolt easier to build yes how ever i recall the last harper derby had a bigger car count than winfield chain and bang. Newton last night which is a welded class had over forty cars. In my opinion if you want a hard hitting derby like the last Harper derby have the same rules and a good paying maddog and 1st place. Just my two cents.

Why does this have to be on a Saturday? Why not Sunday the 20th or Friday the 18th? Newtons is generally on a Sunday and Winfield's is on a friday. Just a thought.

Actually that was fun Jon. My 500 dollar turd gave your 5000 dollar jewel a run for its money. And since it was the same car that won kingman the year before it was all money in the bank for me
