METRIC CADDIES FROM 77-79 ALLOWED TO RUN? THE RULES SAY 1980 & NEWER, I KNOW THEY ARE ABOUT THE SAME , BODYS ARE A BIT DIFFERENTIN REAR POST AREA & I DO NOT WANT TO GET IN ANY MORE GREY AREAS THAN WE NEED TO. THEY ARE ALLOWED IN THE POWDER PUFF CLASS. Hope this helps. Thanks for your question.

FRAME ON A 77 CADDY ARE THE SAME AS A 1980 CADDY, CORRECT, THE DIFFERENCE IS IN THE REAR WINDOW PILLARS, AND HOW THEY ARE STRUCTURALLY SHAPED. BUT I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE GET BENT TO THE POINT WHERE THAT MATTERED, BY THE TIME THEY GET WADDED UP THAT FAR, THE FRONT IS BELLIED.

just like a frame on a 78 fury wagon and 78 monco pinch framers are the same frame as the 80 new port with the frames the same body design little different cause different make they also made a 78 newport that is a pinch framer that is no different from an 80's model i'm not arguing with you i just point out what they do to me every year and i even believe you chimed in on one once saying they are not the same

Rules allow changing of body bolts on full frame cars. Now... Uni-Body Cars. May have a toatal of 12 inches of weld to repair factory spot welds from back doors rearward.
I think this is fair & reasonable. Thank you, & Thank you for your questions.

SO, 12 INCHES OF SPOTWELDS, OR 12 INCHES OF CONTINUOUS WELD, ALTHOUGH IT COULD BE BROKEN UP INTO SEGMENTS?

re-welding the factory spot weld only..example re weld 24 spots with 1/2 inch of weld. Not a solid bead 12 inchs long.
