I want to try a new class this year at two of my shows and need input . It would be a stock type build and go with compact cars under 104 or do mid size cars and alow cars and min vans together no trucks 1000,400,200,100 . What do you think and would it work . If you don't want to commit on here give me a call 620-366-2823 Thanks Daren

Well if this is not what you want how about a Oldschool Full size build no Dps or protectors of any kind weld arms forward , 12" of seam weld per fram rail 3on3 body seam welds and bumper swaps and any drive train . Just trying to get more drivers back on the track any input will help . I am going to and a class just want to add the right one

Why not change your hobo class to 80's and newer. Something like: Motor, tranny, rearend have to match that make of car (ford to ford, GM to GM, mopar to mopar). No tilting, but allow them to do some modifications that are a minimal cost, for example: change body bolts, but you have to have a 1" spacer; fold the trunk, but 50% has to stay stock shape; etc. Allow any bumper, and allow them to be welded on with no filler metal. Weld the drivers door and that's it.
Then for your second class have a limited weld class, something close to the limited weld rules they ran at blizzard bash, and have this open to any year. There are still cars around that were driven 10 to 15 years ago that could easily be converted into this class, also it is close to what LeRoy ran last fall and what Garnett is running this fall. My only request is to allow mopars to use one of the conversion cradles to drop a SBC into mopar, this is the cleanest way to make the conversion and it can be done without all the "support" metal.
I think a lot of people that go out of derbying would be more apt to build a car to these rules than spending all the time/money to have all the protectors and other non-stock items that you have to have with the weld class if you want to have a chance to compete. Think about it, if you could build a car like you did 10 to 15 years ago to drive in one last derby would you?

I read through your hobo rules and those are similar rules to what I run in my area but we call the chain n bolt down here. I agree with the hobo style and a weld class. The other class which use to be big was the weld truck class.
Instead of adding more classes to pull in more car counts; did you think about taking that payout money and adding it to your show now? I know when the shows in southern Kansas started paying $1,500 to win then paying eight deep, the car counts really started going up. It's crazy for a stock build class to have payouts like that but it's working.
