Maybe Ottawa Derby Should be like the one in Canton Lets get their officials up here. Maybe we should go to Stock Derby Chain only if you weld you dont run. You can pre bend the frame and change motors. But that is it. This might stop all the bullshit and make it fair. And make people hit still to much sandbagging going on.

You cant get very many cars that are worth runnin for 100 dollars when guys buy cars for 400 dollars the build them to last them a couple derbies people just need to realize that this 2011 prices have doubled scrap price is good so there is no talking people out of cars if you dont pay them what they want the will most likely scrap it for 180 a ton

canton ran a chain class short field and a weld class lots of cars ....if it averaged 1500 dollars to build a car, and 25 cars show up, and you pay the first 5 places. that means you have 20 people that got nothing, not a wise investment if you only look at $ return. even more so when the playing field is not level. ........its not the cost of scrap, its not the cost of gas, its not the entry fee alone, these items are not productive to car count, however everone pays the same for these. ... where then is the rub?

SCRAP PRICE TODAY IS VERY CLOSE TO THE HIGH IT WAS AROUND 4 YEARS AGO, SO THERES NO BITCHING ALLOWED UNLESS YOU DIDNT BUILD A STOCKPILE WHILE THE PRICES WERE DOWN. DONT COUNT ON JUST DRIVING DOWN A DEAD END ROAD AND FINDING A 75 IMPALA FOR 74 BUCKS..... BETTER TO HAVE CONNECTIONS AND A GOOD STASH TO RELY ON .. GET RID OF THE HIGH DOLLAR PARTS, AND DERBYING WILL BECOME FUN, NOT THE JOB IT IS TODAY...........
