The New WyCo fair grounds is located at 7hwy & Polfer Rd. 13700 Polfer Road in Kansas City, Kansas
The track / pit area is north of Midway & Carnival. WyCo is still in process of building grounds but have enough done to have Motor cross, Derby & Mud Run.
This is a Kansas Championship Qualifier race.

The following General Car Rules & Regulations will apply to all classes of demolition derby run at the Wyandotte County Fair along with class rules to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. No express or implied warranty of safety shall result from publication of or compliance with these rules and/or regulations. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to participant, spectator, or official. Any car not aggressively participating in the action for one minute, not moving for one minute or stalled for one minute will be disqualified. Cars that are hung together must make contact with other live cars in one minute or be disqualified. No sandbagging, any car not actively participating will be given ONE warning before being disqualified. ~ All cars will be safety inspected prior to the event. A car will not be permitted to run if the rules are violated. ~ The Officials may require a driver to remove or change any part or portion of the automobile that the judges consider to be unsafe to the driver or others. ~ All cars will have open hood inspection before the event. Inspections may be extensive if deemed necessary by officials (Drilling, cutting frame, tires, etc) ~ No intentional or careless driver’s door or direct head on hits allowed. Two fires that stop action and you will be disqualified. ~ All cars must have working brakes and exhibit the ability to stop before entering the arena. ~The officials will deal with any situation not covered in rules if deemed necessary. All decisions of the officials are final. ~ Protest will cost $200.00 up front. If the protest stands, the $200.00 will be returned. If not, the $200.00 is forfeited. Classes Full Size Class - No 1970 or older Lincolns, Imperials, or Imperial sub frames allowed. Compact Class – Wheelbase limits FWD 108” and RWD 104”, No trucks, 4x4 or AWD cars. Frame Preparation No painting, undercoating of frames Etc. If frame has been painted or greased, car will not be inspected. Frame welding exceptions; a arms forward, top seam only, ½ inch wide welds, 12 inches of weld max behind a arms but no further back than center of front doors, ½ inch wide welds, and 12 inches of weld does not have to be continuous. Pitching or rotating of frame is allowed. Unibody cars may weld both seams forward but may not fold over pinch weld; k members may not be welded to unibody in any way, may have solid spacers ¾ inch max. Angle iron may be added for transmission cross member mounts no longer then 8 inches and no closer to front than OEM cross member position. Engines may be welded to frame but only in cradle area. Bumpers and brackets are allowed to be welded to frame; two pieces of all thread in trunk area may be welded to frame. Watts link conversions on newer Fords allowed must be converted to standard rear end using trailing arms and brackets off of older Ford or metal of same thickness, brackets may be welded to frame one pass only and may not add strength to frame in any way. Bumpers / Brackets All bumpers and brackets must be passenger car origin, no rear brackets on front. Bumper chrome may be welded to backing no added metal. All bumper brackets and shocks must be mounted outside of frame unless factory shocks were mounted inside frame (example 80’s fords) Cadillac’s and Y frame Chryslers must be mounted outside frame. Bumpers and brackets may be welded solid to frame; no bracket may extend further back than 10 inches from center of original core support bolt. Two 4X8X ¼ inch straps per bumper may be welded to frame or to body or, two ¾ X8 inch all thread may be used with four inch washers max ,washers cannot be welded. Bumper height from ground 16 inch min to 22 inch max measured from bottom of bumper. Doors All doors may be welded solid, 4inch by ¼ inch max. Outside only, top of doors may be folded and welded with maximum ½ X ¼ straps. Hoods Hoods may be bolted wired or chained shut, six hood bolts 1 inch max. 5 inch washers max. must be free floating only ,front two bolts may go thru frame but not to be welded to frame ,other four must be sheet metal to sheet metal. Two Chains or two spots of wire from bumper to hood 3 inch max. Washers may be welded where wire or chain meets hood. Will be allowed to use 3/8 bolts with 1 inch OD washers around cutouts in hood sixteen bolts max. No hood handles. Must have hole for fire safety. Trunks Trunk lids must remain on hinges. Tucking, v’ing, is allowed, no wedging allowed quarter panels must remain vertical within 3 inches of oem position (do not fold panels) may use four ¾ all thread two must go thru factory body mounts two may be welded vertically to frame in trunk area (trunk area is considered bottom of rear window to tail lights) these bolts must remain vertical, may weld six on and six off with max. Strap size of 3X6X ¼ inch on the outside perimeter of trunk lid only. No seam welding of any part of trunk. Fenders and Quarter Panels Quarter panel must remain vertical within 3 inches of OEM position. Do not double crease panels all creases may only be two layers. Fenders may be trimmed and folded, 10 3/8 bolts with 1 inch washers may be used per quarter panel. Quarter panel does not include rear window post. Gas tank doors in quarter panel may be welded solid, no additional metal may be added. There is to be NO interior seam welding. Body rust repair Body rust repair will be allowed but will be very limited. Cars will be allowed only external repairs; sheet metal must be same thickness as body, max. 4X4 inch not to be welded solid bust be 1 and 1. (Example weld one inch skip one inch) Floor pans may be repaired must not reinforce car, only repairs accepted may be to retain gas tank, battery box, etc. No rust repairs on trunk floor pan. Frame repair plates – four 4x8x1/4 plates on frame MAX. damage must be visible. #9 Wire #9 wires will be limited; two spots per window four wraps each may go to frame. 9 wire washers may be welded to body, only two washers per window, 2inch diameter max. Unlimited after heat race. Tires and Rims Valve stem protectors may be used. Doubles, fork lift, and foam filled tires are allowed. No strengthening of rims except around bolt holes, no split rims. No paddle tires on rear. Suspension / Springs No coil to leaf conversions. No special lifts or air shocks. Suspension spring spacers are allowed. Rear leafs must have two inch arch, factory leaf cars must meet the following six leafs max, 2 ½ inches wide, two inch stagger 5/16 inch thick , four clamps per side must be mounted as factory leafs would be, u bolts 7/16 inch max. May have 2 inch diameter washer welded to frame at rear shackle sole purpose of retaining shackle. May be chained over humps but must have arch. OEM trailing arms are required but can be reinforced. A-arms must be stock, ball joints may be welded to a arms, ball joints must be OEM automotive style, and tie rod may be reinforced but must have OEM tie rod ends (no heim joints). A-arms may be made solid in only one of the following ways; 1) 8” of total weld from A-arms to frame rails without added metal per A-arm. 2) One bolt per A-arm. 3) Two 2x4x1/8” strap per A-arm to frame (edge welded) Rear ends Rear ends must be OEM of passenger car origin, five lug max. , no floaters, rear end bracing is allowed. Thirty five spline axels Max. Braces are for the sole purpose of strengthening rear end housing only. Brake backing plate must be OEM no reinforcements. Radiators / Coolers Oem style radiators only no home made or tube style. Must be within 2 inches of stock location, ac condensers if left in may be retained by four, 3X6X1/4 inch straps max, and 8- 3/8 inch bolts with 1 inch washers, straps may be welded to core support. Tranny coolers are allowed. Must be braided lines and crimped ends. (Absolutely no hose clamps or rubber lines) No other cooling systems allowed. Batteries / Fuel tanks Two 12v batteries max. Must have covered. Original tank must be removed from car, no plastic tanks allowed, tanks must be securely mounted, size of tank must in no way reinforce car or pose a hazard to driver, 10 gallon capacity suggested. Fuel lines must be secured, no rubber lines in driver’s area, electric fuel pump allowed. Gas only no alcohol allowed. Body mount Bolts Body mount rubber may be removed must be replaced with ¾ inch spacer, must be ¾ inch gap between frame and body, body mount bolts no larger than ¾ inch with 5X5X ¼ inch washers on top side of body not to be welded to body. May add two additional body mount bolt anywhere, bolt size may not exceed 7 inches long. All frame side washers must be inside frame or removed for inspection. Cage / Halo / Front window bar Cage is allowed two side bars max. Size 6 inch tubing or channel, max. of three cross bars allowed no larger than 5 inches in diameter , no curved dash bars, must be min. 6 inches from center of dash, must be min. 10 inches from floor, no higher than bottom of side windows, rear bar may attach to front side of inner rear tire well, four down legs allowed six inch wide max. Bars may attach to body, may not be within two inches of body mount or body mount plate. 80’s and newer only are allowed a gas tank protector 6X24 inches may rest against back seat panel but may not be attached to back seat panel, may attach to rear seat pipe. Halo bar may be added to cage 5 inch max diameter, may go to floor pan sheet metal but not to frame, must remain vertical within 12 inches of drivers seat, may only be attached to roof with two bolts. Front windshield bars only, 2 ½ inch max diameter, two bars only, may not extend more than 4 inches past windshield opening; all crossbars must be within windshield opening. Engines and Protectors Engine must be mounted within 3 inches of stock location, may only be mounted to engine cross member. Will be allowed two additional straps 2X8X3/8 inches to retain engine, must be welded to cradle only and in no way strengthen frame. Distributor protectors are allowed, must start derby a min. of 1 ½ inches from firewall at all points. (NO EXEPTIONS). Aftermarket engine cradles allowed, can be no further than 8 inches from original mounts and cannot connect to heads, water pump, or distributor, no balancer protectors and in no way may reinforce frame. Cradle is to retain engine only. Transmissions Transmission coolers allowed. Skid plates allowed and must only protect transmission not reinforce car in any way. Summary Absolutely no other reinforcements of body or frame is permitted only those stated in the rules. No painting or undercoating of frames allowed if so cars will NOT be inspected. Inspection will be thorough and unbiased you may expect frame scopes, drills.

that would be great to see some missouri guys come on over to kansas .the championship is october 15th Wyandotte has always been considered a missouri derby even being in kansas. Kansas cars dont usually show up to it. Maybe this year? ;D
