Isn't the Galaxy 500 already a steel bumper? Yea but don't think there shockers.

I read the rules as the only swaps allowed were aluminum to steel of the same make and model. This would provide metric GM's, Ford, and maybe Mopar (not sure about their newer bumpers) the only swap opportunities. Of course I'm not the promotor so don't take my word for it, just joining the conversation:)

what about metric caddi's? Did any have all steel bumpers... If not, does that mean they are forced to run the aluminum bumper? Or is any car with an aluminum bumper allowed to swap to a bumper of choice. Also seems vague on bumper mounting, are shocks allowed to be compressed and bolted? Stock mounting and saying you don't want to pick up bumpers don't seem to go together?

BUMPERS No welding on bumpers. They can be wired, chained or bolted from mount to mount. No welding of shocks or brackets. If you have an aluminum bumper you may change it, to a stock model bumper. Bumper swaps ok if you have an Aluminum bumper. Brackets must be stock to that car gm to gm, ford to ford.
MY TAKE ON THIS, JUST READING IT AS IT IS AND NOT "LOOKING FOR A LOOPHOLE"- MEANS THAT IF THE CAR YOU HAVE CHOSEN CAME FROM THE FACTORY WITH AN ALUMINUM BUMPER, IT MAY BE SWAPPED TO A STEEL VERSION OF THAT BUMPER AND THE STOCK BRACKETS AND SHOCKS FOR THAT CAR MUST BE USED TO MOUNT IT. I DO NOT SEE ANY VICS WITH ANYTHING OTHER THAN A STEEL BACKED VIC BUMPER BEING ALLOWED IN THROUGH TECH. AN EARLY GALAXY WOULD BE AT A HUGE DISADVANTAGE IN HAVING TO RUN A TINFOIL FACTORY BUMPER, PLUS RUNNING THE FORD ENGINE AND STEERING COMPONENTS STOCK TO THAT CAR. CHRYSLERS FROM 78 AND DOWN SHOULD HAVE FACTORY BUMPERS FOR THAT MODEL, NO POINTIES ON NEWPORTS OR MONACOS (ITS AN EXAMPLE, NOT PICKING ON JUST ONE MAKE) CADILLACS RUN THE FACTORY BUMPERS FOR CADDIES 76 AND EARLIER, 76 IMPALA RUNS THE FACTORY BUMPER, 74 IMPALA RUNS THE FACTORY BUMPER, 75 LTD RUNS FACTORY BUMPER. IF YOU HAVE CHOSEN A CAR THAT ALL OF US KNOW CAME WITH A FACTORY STEEL BUMPER AND YOU HAVE SWAPPED IT OUT FOR A "BETTER VERSION", DONT EXPECT A PITY PARTY. WE ALL HAVE BEEN AROUND THIS FOR A WHILE AND KNOW WHAT SHOULD BE FACTORY AND WHAT HAS BEEN SWAPPED AROUND TO TRY AND GAIN AN ADVANTAGE. I DONT THINK THAT ANY EXCUSES LIKE " I BOUGHT THE CAR THIS WAY, OR- I DIDNT HAVE ANY OTHER BUMPERS TO USE BESIDES THIS ONE" WILL WORK. THE FAIRBOARD IS TRYING TO GAIN A FRESH START AND NEW DRIVERS AFTER THE LAST FEW DERBIES WERE A FIASCO AND IM SURE THEY WANT TO PROVIDE THE BEST EXPERIENCE FOR DRIVERS AND FANS AS POSSIBLE......BRING WHATEVER CAR YOU THINK HAS THE BEST CHANCE, STOCK ENGINE, STOCK REAR END AND STOCK BUMPERS, AND LET THE PIPES SING.... ITS REALLY VERY SIMPLE...WRAP YOUR MIND AROUND HOW SIMPLE IT IS TO BUILD A CAR WITHOUT ALL THE TRICKS AND EXPENSIVE GARBAGE WE ALL HAVE BEEN BRAINWASHED TO "NEED" TO COMPETE. FANS WANT TO SEE CARS BEND, TRUNKS BLOW APART AND WAGONS TORN IN HALF. NOW LETS NOT DISAPPOINT THEM...

MAC BROUGHT UP A GOOD POINT, THAT SOMEONE COULD TILT A VIC COLD. I DONT SEE THAT BEING SMART AS TO DO SO WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO PUT PIPE SPACERS BETWEEN THE CORE SUPPORT AND FRAME MAKES NO POINT. SEE, PIPE SPACERS WOULDNT BE STOCK. AHHHHHHHHHHH.......

unless there 2 althread through the coresupport has a nut and washer acting as a spacer then the normal nut and plate at the hood....hmmm i.m.o tilting the frame even as a cold tilt would fall under "strengthing the frame"

YEAH, I JUST DONT SEE THAT AS WORKING TOO WELL, PLUS YOURE DEALING WITH JUNK STEERING BOX AND A FORD MOTOR WITH EITHER A C4 OR A.O.D. TRANS AND AN 8.8 REAR END WITH TOOTHPICK AXLE SHAFTS AND THOSE CHEEZY BUMPER SHOCKS.... NOT GREAT CHOICES

Got a question for you. Are you going to allow someone the has a galxey 500 to swap bumpers? Or just newer fords? No matt the only bumper swaps that will be allowed will be if the bumper was aluminum then u may swap to a bumper from that make and model. If you chose a Ford Galaxy 500 then you chose to run that bumper and motor and rear-end of that car. My advice would be to find a better car if ya don't like the bumper.

Shocks on bumper may be bolted or wired from mount to mount. I don't have a problem with you compressing the shocks u may not add any mounting bolts to the shock. I have ran many stock shows and never had to pick up my bumper.. If you bolt chain and wire from mount to mount you can keep them on the car. Go get a car out of the field chain, wire, and bolt it up and come play no need for all the bumper swaps and bracket swaps. every one is going to be on the same playing field.
