I UNDERTSAND THE PROBLEM, I REALLY DO. ITS PEOPLE WANTING TO DERBY THAT CANT SEEM TO FIND A RUNNING CAR FOR THE RIGHT PRICE. BUT HONESTLY, THE SIDE ISSUE IS FINDING "THE RIGHT CAR" FOR THE RIGHT PRICE. IF METRIC CARS ARE YOUR BAG THEY ARE EASILY FOUND FOR $400-$600 ALL WEEK LONG. AND OLD IRON SEDANS? I SELL THEM MINUS M/T FOR $600-$700 IN "WIRE CLASS" SHAPE. WOULD I CARE IF YOU BOLTED IN AN OLDS 307 INTO A 74 DELTA 88? NOT REALLY, BUT TECHNICALLY IT ISNT RIGHT... I WOULD HOWEVER, RATHER HAVE A BIG TURNOUT WITH AS MANY STOCK BUILT CARS AS POSSIBLE. ITS A FINE LINE THAT WE TREAD ON AND JUST WHERE DOES IT END UP BEING SO FINE THAT WE ARE ALL WITHIN THE RULES, BUT MAY HAVE COST OURSELVES 10 EXTRA CARS... ?? HARD TO SAY. I DO THINK THAT WITH PEOPLE NOW BELIEVING IN THIS NEW SHOW THAT THEY WILL START THE CAR GATHERING PROCESS A BIT EARLIER THAN THEY HAD IN THE PAST IN ORDER TO ENSURE THEY HAVE A VIABLE CAR TO BUILD..... I SEE WHAT WOULD COULD BE CALLED "JIGSAW PUZZLE CARS" ALL THE TIME. CARS WITHOUT AN ENGINE OR TRANS, THEN FIND A CHEAP ENGINE AND TRANS THAT WOULD BOLT RIGHT IN AND BE WITHIN THE RULES....... ALL FOR LESS THAN A WHOLE RUNNING CAR WOULD COST IF IT WERE ALL TOGETHER. THE RULES ARE FINE BY ME,THEY LET YOU DO AS MUCH OR AS LITTLE AS YOU WANT AND STILL HAVE THE CHANCE TO BE COMPETITIVE. IM SURE THAT EVERYONE THOUGHT THAT THE 68 OLDS DELTA 88 SEDAN WOULD BE THE FIRST ONE OUT IN THE FEATURE, TINFOIL BUMPERS AND ALL...... BUT LOOK WHAT HAPPENED-- 3RD PLACE AND A GRAND IN HIS POCKET....... GARY, YOU PROVED ME WRONG. WAY TO KEEP IT TOGETHER.... AND THOSE PRE-71 CARS ARE CHEAPER THAN OLD IRON.......

Very true I'm already started buying metric gms because I had a shit load of calls, people stopping by wanting to know if I had cars or if I wanted to sell, I sold the last Vic I had and a 78 caddy I noticed that didn't show, and I ran the last car I had setting back for a show like this, but it wasn't my cup of tea but it was fun trying something new i have never ran before and I learned from my mistakes on what not to do, I like the rules but this will be something Brandon and the guys will have to deside, I think they had a wild time with my car in the inspection line with how I did my washer Plating lol, and messing up my pretty paint job lol

Brandon, I know we have discussed this some but I would like to see something in the rules allowing tin bumpers such as on y frame mopars to be replaced later model bumpers.
Why so late on the rule changes? I would like to see the new rules out by thanksgiving. I have much more free time in the fall and winter months than I do in the spring and summer. I use a lot of vacation for hunting, and misc stuff in the winter and would like to be able to work on a car in the winter when I have time and also not sweat my ass off in the summer.

I will get with the fair board in the next few weeks and see what we can come up with Thanks Brandon. That would be great. You still planning on sending out questionnaire? Mac, for as long as I have been running Winfield they have always been very willing to help load. Having to pay at any derby to be loaded after the show is just pure B.S.

I have thought about that rule also because I didn't really see the fairness in letting guys replace weak aluminium bumpers to steal but weak tin bumpers had to stay stock, but then again they had to bolt up and couldn't change the mounts, this is another rule to where I think. Chevy to Chevy, ford to ford and so on, don't matter on year or make

Brandon you did a dam good job, it was good to see the car count up and also no team driving. I like the rules, true they can be changed to make some cars alittle better but all and all it was a good derby. I will have a car next year for sure. I hope we can keep getting the car count up. O ya don't take the 9 wire away I like it better than chains. But again you did amazing job.

Good video, I didn't realize how bad my ole chevy bent the sub of the Yorker.....he did beat me though lol.....my frame horns ripped at the shitty factory welds and bent the bumper straight up.....im running it again this sat. car bent perfect....I do however think a shocker Chrysler would be favored at this show......and I thought I had ole shane beat when I put my nose in his drivers tire towards the end, I seen his motor rock over (broke his mounts) but nope, I think his big ass arms grabbed her by the back of the block and sat her back in the hole and took home the $1500.....great time....hope theres 40 cars next year

IN MY MIND LEAVE THE RULES AS THEY ARE. A 1968 DELTA 88 WITH TINFOIL STOCK BUMPERS GOT THIRD PLACE. THATS ENOUGH FOR ME TO KNOW THAT PRE-74 GM CARS WILL WITHSTAND THE ONSLAUGHT. WHICH IN TURN MEANS THAT MOPAR Y-FRAMERS COULD BE BUILT JUST FINE WITH STOCK BUMPERS..... ILL BET THAT 40 CARS DO SHOW NEXT YEAR. THIS SHOW HAS PROVEN THAT IT DOES WHAT IT PROMISES.......
